What Does Everyone Think Of Nos??
i wud use a nitrous kit..........for purge.
other than that, more than likely no, unless i wanted a quick lil pick me up. i really don't see the effects of nitrous being good to your engine. Cryo-2 on the other hand, works very nicely from the dyno sheets i've seen, and track slips with the before and afters.
i have a few things to say to the nay-sayers of nitrous.
1. Nitrous is the best bang for buck period.
2. If you think it is cheating because it runs out....wtf you have to fill up your gas tank too do you not?
3. I bet 90% of you saying nitrous is bad or whatever have no idea how it works. IF you come back saying, "it super cools the air and makes it more dense" you are an idiot. That is where like 2% of the power increase from nitrous comes from.
Nitrous can be just as good as turbo or supercharger if done right and just as safe. It's all about supporting mods and getting the tune right. Nitrous is great. Personally, i like the steady increase in power of a centrifugal blower and i will still have a centri even when i build my motor and am aiming for somewhere in the 700's. It would be easier to reach my goals with a turbo, but i PERSONALLY would rather have a centri, which is why i have no problem with people saying they don't like nitrous, but don't say it is bad or it is dangerous because odds are you have no idea what you are talking about.

this is my nitrous set up right here

DynoTune Nitrous Systems Perform!!!
Checkout a video of a standard wet system DynoTune Wet Kit 150HP shot
The DynoTune Double-Shot Nitrous system combines a Wet and Dry nitrous kit for the ultimate in system flexiblity. Up to 300HP at the flip of a switch. This kit is made for EFI engines with MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensors.
It comes with everything to install and is fully adjustable up to 150hp on the wet stage and up to an additional 150HP on the Dry stage.
Dry nitrous systems inject nitrous oxide in front of the MAF sensor so when the cool nitrous passes the sensor it tricks the sensor into adding additonal fuel, this extra fuel along with the nitrous oxide make the addtional power.
The Wet nitrous system mounts the nozzle in fron t of the throttle body so it does not inject through the sensor! The extra fuel is taken from the fuel rail and injected into the throttle body with the nitrous oxide. This mixture will be carried into each cyl and will make more power.
The system comes with a Digital two stage TPS/RPM window switch with Multi gear lockout controller.
This controller will turn on and off your nitrous system and control both stages based on RPM. It also have multi-gear lockout which will allow standard transmission cars to fully program what gear and rpm they want the stage to come on at. An example would be the following. Come off the line in first using the first stage dry shot. in first gear at 3000 rpms the dry shot turns on, at 6000 rpms the dry shot shuts off. Now you shift into second, the dry shot turns on again and now the wet shot turns on as well, both shut off at 6000 rpms, etc...
Both stages are completely programmable independently.
Link to TPS/RPM two stage controller
The bonus is that it has a built in Throttle position electronic switch! Fully adjustable and works with fly by wire TPS switches as wel..
The following parts are included:
--10lb bottle with high flow valve
--4AN stainless bottle nut & Teflon washer
--Stainless quick connect Bottle brackets and hardware
--16 foot braided stainless feed line, blue fittings
--High Flow Nitrous(qty2) and Fuel solenoids
--Solenoid mounting brackets
--2 foot Braided stainless Nitrous(qty2) and Fuel feed lines, red and blue fittings
--Braided stainless line for Fuel rail test port installation, red fitting
--4&6cyl kits---Jets for 35, 50 and 75HP (Wet stage) --4&6cyl Kits---Jets for 25, 35 and 50HP (Dry stage)
--8cyl kits---Jets for 75, 100 and 150HP (Wet stage)
--8cyl Kits---Jets for 50, 75 and 100HP (Dry stage)
--High flow Wet Nozzle "Chrome"
--High flow Dry Nozzle
--Both Nozzles use Mounting adaptors so the Nozzle does not blow out during injection causing a dangerous condition, makes mounting the nozzle in plastic or rubber a snap!
--Lighted arming switchs, relays, wire and wire harness, fuse, crimp terminals etc..
--Our 22 page Nitrous installation and tuning book is included! Full pictures and detailed installation instructions for the DynoTune Double-Shot system.
NOTE: Due to serious power increases it is highly recommended that the system is professionally installed and tuned. Fuel system upgrades and drivetrain upgrades will be required. Small HP increases of 100-125hp should work fine on most 8cyl applications.

I have no problem saying I have NOS in my car, its an actual holley kit. If people say that because of a movie, so what? I'm sure the only people who complain about it are the ones who think nitrous is gonna blow up your car too.
Just get a wet kit and do a 50-60 shot. I would stay away from dry, its bad news. Dry shots increase the probability of running lean on the bottle and having problems. Use a wet shot, and all other things stay the same, you just add enough fuel to burn with the amount of nitrous you are using.

I was also thinking about a 25 shot sprayed before the MAF so there wouldn't be a need for tuning but I'm just going to go 25 or 35 dry shot with a new tune. I think I would be happier with a 35.
I was thinking about a wet 50 shot. GM stage 3 is dry 50 shot so GM must know something.

I still saw a LSJ low pistons from a 100 shot, I'd have to advise against it on a stock internals car. I won't exceed a 60 shot until the car gets built.

GM uses a dry because the stage 3 computer has a built in controller for the shot, meaning it can retard timing and increase injector flow for the nitrous. I am not going to use a stage 3 PCM, its Miami, I need my a/c. Wet shot just is much safer and more consistent. I wouldn't spray before the MAF, thats not a good idea. The computer reads temperature of the maf sensor, not as ambient temps but it heats the wire in the maf to a certain temp and measures how much energy it takes to keep it hot and calculates the airflow over it. Spraying freezing nitrous over it would cause problems. You have to tune for a dry shot, you can't expect the car to do it for you.

Get one used. I see them for $350 or so all the time. Holley brand, good stuff.

Well, he cracked one or two pistons, so I don't know if just the head gasket and studs are gonna be enough, but you are not boosting so there is a lot less stress on your car to begin with.

Also dyno tune sells 50 shot systems brand new for 269
um read my sig bro, lol. wiseco forged 8.9:1 pistons, Egale forged Rods, Ferrea valves and spring kit w/ titanium retainers. 3 angle valve job on the head, honde the cylinders, lol my list goes on and on, i have a few other mods but there isnt enough room in the sig to put the rest

Dyno tune wet systems are only $269? No, thats a dry shot. I'm talking about wet kits, which are closer to $400+ anywhere i've seen them. I bought my holley wet kit for $300 with an almost full bottle, and it has some extra jets, an extra dry nozzle and such. There are deals out there if you look and have paitence.
nitrous kits are not sold in "shots"
they come with jets, jets allow you to adjust the horsepower "shot"
the only limits are this.
the solenoids.
the amount of jets you have
and your motor.
when all of these have been surpassed in terms of supporting the power that you want, you need to upgrade the feed line itself.

the 6an feed line would be for the people wanting to go over 150hp nitrous systems
