Whats it take guys?

Hey guys. I once made a post about "Go BIG or GO HOME!"

At the time I thought I was going pretty big. My mod lists so far consists of the following.

GM Stage 2 kit.
Tripple Pod A Pillar.
Mechanical Boost Gauge, Fuel Pressure Gauge, Interceptor.
Cobalt Addiction Steering Wheel Gauge Pod with AEM Wideband.
ZZP Header, ZZP Downpipe, Magnaflow cat, Custom 3 inch exhaust, With a Glass pack for a resonator.
injen cold air intake
b&m short throw shifter
ingalls torque dampener
eibach sportlines
dual pass end plate with option b
cx racing heat exchanger.
1st gen projectors with 6000k lows and 6000k highs.

Now, I thought that was going pretty big. I thought that was a decent chunk of change, and was a good start. Now, throughout my learning I have realized that I need to go bigger, and that things should have been done differently.

The stage 2 kit was a bad idea. It's great if you want to stay under warranty, but if you want serious power, then forget stage 2.

I now plan on going with 60lb injectors, a 2.8inch pulley and a custom tune. This will allow the supercharger to reach maximum boost quicker, and will give me more horsepower. The injectors will allow me to stay within the proper IDC's without going static, and keep giving me the fuel I need.

So I thought that was going to be pretty big. I have the 2.8 and 60lbers in my trunk waiting to be installed.

As I read more, that really isn't all that "big". So I decided to add a few more things to the list.

I decided to grab the following.
Front and Rear Power Slot rotors+Hawk Performance Brake Pads.
Rear Sway Bar.
Tranny Mounts.
50shot of nitrous.

I will be getting the majority of this installed on this tuesday. I am thinking this is a pretty good setup and should land me slightly over 300whp depending on the dyno. I personally dyno on dyno jets. However I still don't think this is going BIG.

What I want to know from you all, is what do you think going BIG would be? Going tvs, more nitrous, a built motor, going turbo or all of the above? What does it take besides a fat wallet?

Going big??? With those mods and a 50 shot your going to go Boom not Big! You will at least see 320whp........... In my eyes there is no going Big unless its a full motor build and turbo.

Big is whatever you make it out to be, most people on here will never touch 300whp. Once you start to get to the high 300's and into the 400's your there

i'ld say that "going big" is at minimum a fully built motor and a turbo

i agree that going big involves a motor build...whetther it be porting the head or beefing up the innards...and you really only need that if your going TVS, twincharge, or turbo swap.

alright. Well, maybe just maybe i will go with a built motor, not touching the cams tho lol, and either the tvs, twin, or turbo.

I can't really decide between the 3 lol.

Hell yea twincharge, seems to be a good option, although you can get there (400HP) with just turbo............I like the idea of the twincharge though. Wonder what it would make with a different intake on it? Or atleast a ported one.

I dont see anyone getting there with the Harrop, not reliably.......

I would have to guess really. I would image not much, the twincharge would have less lag than just a single turbo I would imagine......really depends on the turbo though. 400HP is 400 HP though, right??????

and correct me if I am wrong, but has there been a single person that has more than 330WHP on the harrop? I think I may have seen someone mention 350, but I dont recall actual proof of that.

I just state what I have read off of here, no actual proof of anything, YET!!!! I do plan on going one of those routs next year.............TAX return FTW!!!

really, impressive then.

Meth just isnt an option for me, I dont want something in there that I have to worry about refilling or running out of. Not that there is anything wrong with it, just not for me. Although I only dirve the damn thing about 5000 miles a year .........

so what can the Harrop push to the wheels with just a good HE on a safe tune without meth??
