Why do dealers suck?
So I just got off the phone with a local GM dealer quoting their price on the stage 1 kit. $531, $131 dollars over MSRP, and I had to supply the part number to the dealer. He had never heard of a stage kit. That is unexcusable. It's very hard for me to justify giving any money to a dealer when they are so ignorant and overpriced and most times flat out dicks. Has anyone else reached this conclusion? And it's not just the one dealer. Any dealer I call in my local area is either overpriced on the kit, the labor, or both and have never heard of the kit. It's a sad day when a customer has to supply part numbers to sales and service reps at a GM goodwrench dealership.

when i called my dealer they said GM dont make performace parts for the Cobalt SS/SC
i said yeah they do... "Fin IDIOTS"
i had to explain what was included in the package in order for a tech (lady who answered pahone was stupid) i told the tech, BELT, PULLEY, FUEL INJECTORS, AND they will get and ECU REFLASH.
i sware the tech was dumbfounded, he said 1.5 hours for injectros, and belt, he had no clue on the serpentine belt, so i said forget it,..
I orded my STAGE 2 from london ontario (3 hours from where i live) and ill pick it up, and get it installed at a GM dealership my good friend works at..
GM needs to better inform dealerships of parts for our car if a dealer can sell a CObalt SS/SC someone there should at least know about the car and the Parts GM (the manufacturer of the car)

My dealership didnt know what I was taking about intill i brought the part numbers to them.
But the week after that GM sent them a Notice if the new parts.
No tech is going to know how much to install because GM wont give us labor times. Or at least it take so much time to find if there is.

The guy who ordered me my exhaust and stage 2 is awesome, he researched into the backlog for them, and got all the information for me..
When I went to service to ask about install, the guy was a jerk and claimed that they don't do that at that specific dealership, I just kinda agreed since I don't have my kit anyways, went back to the guy in parts, and he was pretty much calling the service guys complete idiots. He said for me not to worry and that he will make sure things go smoothly lol.

If the dealership cant offer you the service you require its their fault. Call GM service center and explain your disatisfaction with the dealership. Take into consideration that some dealerships dont want to be involved in tuning and performance.

im way down here in GA and i had to call 4 dealerships. all but one said they DONT DO THAT KIND OF UPGRADE!!! i was like wtf. so the last dealership i called which was in north GA quoted me 750 for stage 2 and they said it would be no less than 250 for install. this is way above what i have seen other guys on this site get it for. i was so angry, because i dont have 1000 dollars. alot of guys on here have gotten the stage 2 for about 750 and thats including install. i just dont understand why these dealerships have to suck so much. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD, HONEST DEALERSHIPS IN THE SOUTHEAST THAT WILL DO THE INSTALL?? thanks in advance.

i work at a dealership and they gave me a price for stage 2 for $630. anothier dealership in the same area has them in stock and they charged $950. and they said to install would be around $400. i told them to kiss my ass. every dealer is going to charge what they want. especially on labor charges.

Just buy from CrateEngineDepot.com, then find a dealer with a clue that can install it. $425 for stage 1 and $637 for stage 2, and they even show both as in stock right now.

you can also get a stage kit from pace performance (Jim Pace). The dealer where I'm having mine installed has done two Stage 2 kits, and at least one Stage 1. The guy there that Im going to have do it has worked there for almost 40 years, and its been his only job. If anyone is interested in the area, the dealer is Morrow Chevrolet in Beaver Falls PA. The technicians first name is Bob, he is the head tech./foreman. As far as I know, he is the only Bob, but he has been there for 35/36yrs.
The rest of the techs there change on what seems like a weekly basis, so Im staying clear of them, as Id suggest anyone else do the same as well. Also, I believe GM allows 2hrs. for installation of stage 2.
