I would think yes since that is a lean condition and if you aren't getting enough fuel in with the air then you aren't getting the full benefit.

You need to find out what your AFR is and go from there. I am not a tuner and I won't claim to be. There are several tuners on here who I am sure would be able to help you with your car. Have you installed the part already? and Did you get the code after the install or before?

LSJ's tend to throw the lean code when its colder out. As spring and summer comes your car naturally will start to run richer. My 06 did it every fall before i parked it for winter, tuning will fix but if your not looking to go that way jus yet wait till it gets above 50 and clear the code and see.

the maf is off because of the greater volume of air passing by it. When its colder air is less dense and actually the maf just cant adjust to that amount.

I used to get p0171 with my zzp 3in intake on my LSJ. The "Fix" is to tune the car for the intake, however I ran it for 4 months with no problems. I got the code twice in that time, and just cleared it. However, I traded my LSJ in but was planning on tuning it.
