If you were looking for cheaper.. then yes.. LSD is not needed

However, if your talking about performance.. I dont understand how you can say its not benefical!!!!

Seriously.. some people have to justify thier existance by saying what they have is best, no matter what they have!!

Facts are facts... let it go!

If you want the calculations to prove it.. just ask
The argument was not that the LSD is not benefical, anybody who argues that is drunk. It is plain mechanics that it improves performance. However I think in daily driving and in some straight line shots the difference is not that noticable. At the track it is a different story. For people who are not going to track their car the upgrade may not be worth it. 05's were very limited in Canada so I did not get to chose my options. Is that an SAE car in you sig? What team were you on?

Wow.. an old thread brought back to life.

I think that non-lsd cars arnt true open differentials. Because I do not have LSD(i have spun one tire around turns many of times), BUT when I peel out from a dead stop, both tires roast. So a from a launch, I think our non-lsd Balts are ok from a dig, but for autocross, they are a joke..

i'm not sure if i have the LSD on my car or not..... the build kit did not state LSD, it does state recaro leather seats, it's an 06 SS/SC purchased in may of 06, it supposedly had every option available for the car some are saying for 06 if you got the leather recaro's LSD was included ? cause i'm not sure if it has the LSD or not!.

Again.........................anybody who bought an 05' SS/SC in Canada did not have lsd or recarro's. If we had a choice I'm positive that everyone would buy the g85 package. Now, the 06's in Canada had a choice. The problem is that a person in Canada who bought or leased one of these cars will have to pay until 09. Since they've discontinued the car after 08' we are out of luck as of 09'. If we want an 08' with lsd etc.........it will cost us dearly. I wonder though.....................if we keep our 05's in great condition, 25 years from now the non-lsd 05's will be very rare. Maybe they will be worth more just because there is fewer of them?????? What do you think?????

Not worth it IMO.

sure it would be nice to pour power on in the turns, but in all honesty for the amount of use i would get out of it, its not worth the cost.

and as far as straight lines....
Ive cut 2.13 60fts on my non LSD.
