Hey I just installed a new 3in downpipe from zzp (bolt in style). I noticed the cat rubbs against the body. Anyone have any ideas?

 

Rubbing on the body or the heatshield, if its rubbing the heatshield just bend the shield, ***** very thin and bends really easy.

 

Well he said against the body lol so I would assume he is having a problem with it rubbing on the body. Check everything make sure you have it all done right. Next step look to see what it is rubbing on and if it is nothing really important fix it with a hammer if you cant manipulate the dp to stop rubbing.

 

I have heard of a few people have that have had problems with it hitting the body and more than a few say its hitting the heat shield and vibrating like crazy.

Here is a link to one of the thread about. I would contact ZZP so they can correct it. Tell them about the others when you do. They might have seen the threads and are working on correcting it.

Same problem here! I bolted it all up and it was just laying against the body of the car, it was total bs. I took it back off and its sitting in the box... Ill have to get it fixed if i ever want to put it on the car again.

 

I'm the one who started that thread, I didn't speak to ZZP about it since I just thought mine was a mess-up since they seem custom welded and not mass produced, I just had the exhaust shop cut and weld it so it fits alot nicer now, only costed me 120 with the install and welding so I can't complain, but if this is going to keep happening someone should tell them

I live on the west coast of florida, I can get it fixed for free. Thanks though. Its got a 3" spun cat on it. I could think about selling it. PM me
