im ordering my exhaust soon aswell. i was planning on geting a magnaflow catback system (2.5") to mate up to their LTH's until i saw ZZP's 3inch exhaust system. I would save about 100-200dollars. looks like a pretty legit exhaust system and i love the sound of magnaflows.

You won't love the sound of a 3" exhaust.
Do not do it unless your turbo swapping/going TVS. You will not need it with an M62, and it sounds brutal.

im sure it will sound just fine. Im in PA so it will have a high flow cat and a resonator.
yeah im pretty sure any LSJ will sound like poop if its catless w/ no resonator unless its turbo'd, but that red balt in the video sounds soo nice!!
im not trying to spend an extra $200+ for a catback system.
2.5" magnaflow aftermarket produced catback system $600-750(750 on PFYC) plus an extra $15 to get your ZZP LTH DP flange converted into 2.5 exit"
3.0" magnaflow cat back system from ZZp $480 (w/ resonator)
"a 3 inch exhaust system will improve top end horsepower over a 2.5 or smaller exhaust system. It can also be used on supercharged cars with a 3" downpipe and stock exhaust manifold but the gains are small over a 2.5" system as the restriction would be in the manifold"
Im also buying their LTH, so theres no worry about restrictions in the stock manifold.
im eventually going TVS in the next year or two, depending on gas prices lol. one step at a time.

Personally I agree that ZZP should have made a 2.5", I believe strongly that a 3" cat-back on an M62 LSJ is absolutely pointless. 2.5" will support you with no flow problems until roughly 300whp.
However, Clear Image Automotive, (They are on this forum), make a 2.5" cat-back almost completely identical to ZZP's. Only difference is it is 2.5" and the muffler tip is different, and personally I like Clear Image's tip better, but a tip is no reason to make that decision alone, I'm just saying.
I had ZZP install my entire exhaust setup as I did a full v-band setup, and I have a 3" cat-less DP tapered to 2.5" and v-banded to my cat-back and it sounds great.
Also, Clear Image Automotive is a smaller shop so they take jobs very seriously. The quality of the fabrication/welds on their cat-back easily matched the quality of ZZP's. It was very expensive. $1,300 for the header, dp, cat-back, 2 v-bands for the cat-back, and a new exhaust manifold gasket, and then the $300 I paid for labor, which was 5 welds, some cutting + them installing everything.
I guess I have always been the "you get what you pay for" kind of guy, and exhaust setups aren't exactly the place to cheap out. I see guys spend way more than what I spent because every setup they try (going the cheap way) sounded like ass. Spend the money right the first time and you'll have no complaints. I promise.
