ZZP header /dp = less boost?

ZZP header /dp = less boost?

newly installed i never thought i would lose boost? im only hitting about 10lbs compared to my usual 12.5-13lbs anyone?

yes normal...boost does not equal power. it is solely a measure of pressure. more flow coming out, would be less pressure

less boost isnt always a bad thing .... that just shows you freed up some restriction, and the car is breathing more efficently. Now loosing 2 or so lbs of boost might be a bit much from just a header/downpipe. Any other mods ??

blazin is right. uve def freed up alot of the restriction and ur able to get air out more efficiently.. boost is essentialy the air that cant get into the motor..

The blower is attached to the crank shaft and spins with RPM. It puts out a fixed cfm with every revolution. So let's say you had 400 cfm going into the engine at a given rpm. If the engine cannot inject 400 cfm at atmospheric pressure, then boost rises because the air is getting into the engine one way or another.

So the larger or more efficient the engine is, the less pressure required to 'force' the air into it.
