ZZP Snout Machining Tool= Hawtness

This tool is awesome. Another guy on the forums with a Redline and I did it tonight. We had some issues with the condition of the threads in my snout but that was a result of me installing the hub and having problems. Once we retapped it we were ready to go.

We started the cutter going by hand but then we put the power drill on it and Zoom!!!!! We were cutting. It is a great way to machine the snout and an affordable alternative to taking your snout somewhere or buying a machined snout.

Hopefully one of us will post some pictures of the snout this weekend!!!

What size bit did you use to retap the snout? I too screwed the threads up.

That ZZP Tool works GREAT!

Had mine done in 10minutes

Check your tension on your belts. Did you guys notice any slippage or am I the only one?

Only problem I have now is I have a little bit of belt slippage. I'm running the Intense 3 inch Idler pulley, but noticed some slippage when I went from the 2.8 to the 2.6 pully.

I ordered there adjustable tensioner and plan on running that along with the 3inch idler to fit it.

The size tap we used was a M8-1.25 with a pitch of 20 I believe.

I never ran a bigger idler with the 2.8" pulley. I don't think it is slipping. I don't hear any squeaks or anything. Also, my boost gauge doesn't seem to show any slippage. It just pegs at 19 and then hits about 20 at redline

The only bad part is, you CAN'T run a 2.5" pulley on your snout. For people like me, who plan on running a 2.5" pulley, this won't work. I'm going to by an already machined snout, so that I can run a 2.5" pulley. Pluse, it'll look more professional.

I'll take pictures. It looks good And according to ZZP, it will run a 2.5" but I have no intention of doing that. At least that's what I say now but I prolly will want to retract that statement when tuning becomes available. hhahaha

I'm willing to bet money we could...since there is extra room around our 2.6" pulleys...the macined snouts taper to wider the deeper u go in...ours do not...we shouod be fine

For all of you who are reading this and don't already know... You'll need to run higher than 42.5 lb/hr injectors when dropping below 2.6". I have this planned as well, along with the MAF-T, harness, and other goodies in the next 3 months.

60 lb/hr injectors will be sufficient. Although everytime I look them up, they come in sets of 6 for some odd reason... lol.

Yeah I am aware of this. The problem I have heard is that you can not tune enough for the 60# injectors with just a MAF-t. You need some actual tuning software.
