ZZP Stage 2 cams. dyno proven difference.

Ok folks, I just got back from ZZP with a dyno difference between stage 2 cams and stock cams.
Background:

ZZP CAI
ZZP LT header and 2.5 catback
80's
ZZP E85 dyno tuned 360 whp 284 wtq
ZZP Stage 2 cams
Ported head
ARP headstuds
Supertech valve springs
Cometic head gasket
TVS with 2.7 pulley
RSFS
ZZP fuel pump
Dual Pass
Option B
Griffin
GMPP clutch
Wideband
Rotated Trans mounts
Fuel Pump Rewire

Here is the skinny. Ill include the dyno sheet. I dont have a scanner so I took the best pictures I can. The dyno sheet has both the old dyno and the new one. Keep in mind the enviromental conditions were different. it was much hotter (~85-90 degrees farenheit) on the day the stage 2 cams dyno was done. The sheet shows clearly that boost has dropped by an average of 3 psi throughout. Also the torque is higher throughout the entire power band. (some people had said it would be lower) Horsepower is higher throughout but the gap is higher at higher rpms.

The dyno sheet goes to 7500 rpms. for some reason the orginal pull would only show up to about 7000 so it doesnt show it going to 349whp but it did.

Nice man!!

I felt a nice bump from my S1 cams. It's good to see what the S2 cams can provide.

Sadly, I would not have an accurate dyno to compare like you, because my car wasnt dyno'd recently on the current setup before the cams. I am going to have her dyno'd in the fall though just to see where I stand now.

Make sure to add this to the dyno thread. I've been meaning to update it for everyone. I've just been very busy at work.

Thats why I wrote this up, so people can stop guessing what the cams do and they can actually look at proof and see what they do. Should save us some arguments in the future.

Yeah, I really need a balanced engine to take advantage of the power, it is still on like a 40 degree incline Tim said he wished he could have revved it out to 9k and seen what happened.

haha. so call me stupid but i'm having a hard time reading what the actual numbers are... it looks nice on the graph, like you gained around 30 hp but i cant follow the numbers you posted i got it confused. so your numbers were 360/284 before what are they now?

What is nice is it shows the cams make more power thoughout the curve.

Oh well, this should end all of the assumptions (which is a good thing). Again, good stuff & nice numbers man.

I was at 349 278 I am now at 358 284 but as you can see from the graph there are gains across the entire powerband not just at the peak.

and you think the numbers would have been better if the weather conditions were more like the last pull?

how much timing are you on

considering you don't know how the tune is setup timing and fuel ramp there could be a lot more left

Well It was a nice 50 or 60 degrees last time and about 90 this time so maybe a bit better due to less heat soak... but regardless it shows the gains. As for timing, not sure id have to ask tim.

you didn't have heat soak you only get heat soak when the engine is not running

ask tim and see you need to get hpt so you can download the tune

The timing was only 24 degrees at 7500rpm, pretty conservative considering its running E85. Plus he didn't mention that I had to beat on his IC pump every pull, so the IAT2 temps were pretty high. When the IC pump is replaced the timing will be a couple degrees higher.
With how it wants to rev it really could use an ATI balancer as well, but Nolan rarely revs it out so he should be ok for now.
The dynos correction factor isnt really fair to SC cars either on the super hot days, so I would love to redyno it on a 60 degree day.

Heat soak isnt the term I was looking for.. not sure why I typed that. I meant the intake air temp was 30 degrees higher to start so it wasnt as cool and I guess it was humid that day Tim said. But regardless I am not hung up on the numbers, It made good gains and is fun to drive. I know I need to get HPT but I dont know how to tune. but its on the short list of next things for the car.

How much boost with that 2.7 @ redline?
3 psi of boost is the same drop I have with stage 1 cams installed.

24 deg at 7500 is not were it matters timing at peak torque is what will decide how aggressive the tune is

very nice numbers man, but i still think you can make more power out of this setup specially with those cams, ported head and E85 combo.. id say 380whp can be achieved
