zzp valve springs, cheap
i have my head out now at HeadGamesMotorWorks for a port and polish. i can get a good price on SuperTech springs for around $220ish and i was going that way till i saw ZZP valve springs at a really good price $189. but how do they compare to supertech? any one with problems with them? im either staying at the 2.79 or droping to a 2.7 no lower, and no farther than 7400 rpm.

I would suggest you stick with the Supertech springs. I can guarantee ZZP does not have the ability to mass produce valve springs, so yu have no idea who they're actually made by. You get what you pay for when it comes to things like this. Stick to trusted names as far as engine internals go. $40 more is not going to break your bank account.
Yeah honestly man I would save 40$ and go with the zzp springs beacause they wouldnt make something that they think is going to suck and fail on people's cars and people say go with name brand but look at half the people out there going with ebay parts(ebay parts suck I know from past experiences) so besides all the rambling on I did....zzp FTW I'm sure that you want your wedding to be special so dont go out there and spend the extra money that you dont have....Im done lol
i'm not sure if my machinist has anything that will measure the consistency of the resistance of these springs through compression, but i'll ask him when i drop them off, that's the only thing i would even begin to worry about and it's almost a moot point
almost 60k miles on the supertech 78lb spring kit. you NEED seat locators, if you run dual springs. period.
220 for springs only. this price does not include seat locators and Ti retainers.

Dave the owner of HeadGames is a close friend of mine i get all of my parts at cost. and as for locaters, retainers etc... i have em at daves im only worried about these ZZP valve springs, are they any good or not? thanks for the help though area

I just got the wrong springs thats all. I'm still debating on sending them back to get the correct springs, or just having them replace the retainers and going with solid lifters.
wow and you got mad at me for the same EXACT thing? isnt that like the kettle calling the pot black?

there's the truth^ read it and let it sink in. were all running supertech's with NO problems to date.

anyone care to explain the difference between ur stock lifters and a solid lifter? Our stocker seems pretty solid...lol
Is the stock one a 2 piece design or something? (im a lifter noob, and dont know how one would adjust valve lash either

The camshaft lobe presses down on a roller finger follower, acted on by a hydraulic lash adjuster so the valve opens, etc. If the lash adjuster was solid, a cold clearance would have to be adjusted (generally by removing or adding shims under the follower), which on some overhead camshaft engines has a recess in the follower to retain the shim.
Its a PITA job as you have assemble/ measure /disassemble and reassemble/measure again to get valve clearance right. On the overhead camshaft Brian Hart Ford engines i raced as a kid, I measured the shims and kept a record
With an hydraulic lifter you dont have to do any mechanical clearance adjustment its taken up by the hydraulic lifter. What a great invention!....
