My next question for everyone that did this mod is, how much more or less fuel are they using.

Ok so I attempted this morning before work. How the hell did you get to the top bolt without removing the wheel well? Did you remove the stock airbox to get at it?

The inner mount is not a bolt. Its a pull pin type of thing. just but a small screw driver in there or use your finger nails. Its a bitch but it comes off easy.

Has anyone seen any difference in gas mileage yet? Better or worse??

I am pissed today, last nite someone threw a glass bottle out there window on the highway and it hit the side of my car, had an estimate $600 in damage... July 16th she goes in for a make over... So pissed, this is why I didnt want to buy a new car...

Oh so its not like a metal pull pin... its on of them plastic pins? gotcha, so I should be able to just get sum leverage from under the mounting arm it goes thru and pop it out.

Well my balt was in a wreck just the other day and I need a new passenger head lamp, fender and front bumper so while its at the shop(my dads) I well ask them to do it or do it before it goes in. As for the wreck, some kid went into a lane that was ending and next thing I know he is infront and the road ran out, so he ran into me as he whipped over.

I still have a car color piece of metal. My option is a little opening around 2 o'clock on the bolt. If I can even get something down there, IDK if i will have any room to turn it.

Oh this not coming out of my pocket seeing as it was his fault so his parents well be fronting the bill and its being done professionally at the shop my dad works at, he is actually getting my car to work on and he is really good. When I had a wreck in my lincoln you could not tell it afterwards, looked actually better than before the accident.

Yes, I"ll take a look tomorrow better, but I took the headlight out and then the thing under it which was black. After that it still didn't look to manageable from that.

I did the 2.2 airbox mod where I cut the top of the airbox into a tube and attached a K&N cone filter to it. In your picture the top of your airbox is still intact.

Would this be worth doing for me?

IDK how you guys did it. I got her open again and I can't even get my hands down there let alone a tool. Maybe a saw will work.

got the first one off, closest to the front of the car, took 2 hours trying to get the one closest to the air filter, didn't get it anywhere near off. So if anyone would like to share, please do.

the plastic pin for the back one would not come off in mine. You can even reach through the top of your plastic fender and feel the pin. yours might come out but i ended up taking a small hand saw and cut the pin by going through the headlight opening and below everything. kinda a pain but it worked. also when you take the thing out it does not want to fit. rotate it down and then pull the entire piece toward the right side of the car. once the upper part is past the headlight housing your are home free. i figured this out at then end after almost cutting the silencer in half lol
