that is why I am going to get the 2.4 intake manifold soon,it would have good gains with other mods.Right now I am in the process of finding the welder so I can get my brother to make me a custom 2.5 downpipe and put on that pacesetter header already.

Dyno's are in other threads and on the CED website. This mod is now more than a year old!

07's can't use the 2.4 tb cause it's a 8 pin and the 07's are 6 pin. yzrider found that out the hard way. i'm buying his 2.4 tb from him. on a side note we tested it on my car and the car ran fine on the first launch and hit limp mod like a brick wall on the second, lol.

My 07 2.4L TB is an 8-pin.

Well i own a 2.2l 06 all my mods are listed in my sig. Do you think the 2.4 mani of Crate engine will help me or just screw me with limp mod? i plan on getting comp. cams and the tune from Clear Imagae

If you install the 2.4 manifold (CED's kit includes the 2.2 throttle body adapter plate) you won't have a problem. You can't run the 2.4L throttle body on the 2.2 without tuning for it.

The adapter is used between the 2.4L manifold and the 2.2 TB to insure a good/long term seal. Some say the 07 2.2 TB doesn't need the adapter -- check yours closely after installation to insure the seal is good.

The 2.4L TB-to-manifold seal is physically larger then the 2.2L TB-to-manifold seal. The adapter plate makes it so the 2.4L TB-to-manifold seal works with the smaller 2.2 TB's base.

07 2.2L engine cannot use the 2.4L TB without a tune.

i worded that wrong red. theres a post above saying we have 6 pin TB and the 2.4 is 8 pin TB so we couldnt use it. im 07 btw.
is that true? thought 07s could use it. i got a trifecta tune but its not made for 2.4 TB, so if i got the TB, i would have to contact vince and have him retune me for the 2.4 TB then or the one i have good enough?

Thanks

in my post i stated that the 2007 2.2 has a 6 pin connector the 2.4tb has an 8 pin connector therefore the 2.4 tb will not work in the 2007 2.2 under any circumstance. the 2006 2.2 has the 8 pin connector however it will need tuning to use the 2.4 tb.

i was talking about the 2007 2.2's having 6 pins. the 2007 2.2 cannot use the 2.4 tb period. it's just not an option at this point. sorry, if you got confused.

It's rather sad that it is so difficult to swap out the simplest parts!

Got the 2.4 installed this past weekend and love the top end power its great for the free way but i do miss the low end power, i miss the initial burst...

Used to generate power 2800-3200
Now From 3500-4000

How do i get my low end back with out a tune or is there a tune for the 07 ecu yet?

I believe if you go with the tune you can gain back that torque possible.I heard someone say before if you have a performance header on you will gain what you lost in torque with the 2.4 manifold.

ah **** that sucks then, well you will most likely have to get a trifecta tune then to make up for the lost torque but since you're going turbo hold off then for the tune

well you can go with slightly bigger injectors at least 34 pounds or 35 pounds but that requires a tune as well lol.Honestly though if you didn't have the SAI **** I would say the header and that will free up some hp for sure. You can start doing some motor work, cams, port and polish, pistons, valve springs, ect.I am waiting to get my cams until I get the supercharger, which I am going to go with the so call stage 3 cams.

lol people are flipping about the tune and limp mode because they dont know/realize that the throttle body and intake manifold are 2 different things
