I had zero problems after installing mine. If there are no leaks then I dont know what to say. All I did was unhook my battery, install manifold, hook up battery and turn on car and it was fine.

Check your MAF. Take it out and look at it carefully for anything, dirt, debris, oil, etc.

If you have all the seals in (including the green seal with the PCV plate), brake booster hose is installed, TB seal is installed correctly, then start looking for defects of the manifold.

You have a 05 -- did you get the CED plate and gasket for under the TB?

do an erase of the codes through the OBD II port -- disconnecting the battery does not reset the learn values!

another "well liked" Cobalt owner had a similar problem recently -- in his case it was debris on his MAF.

Other things: MAP sensor...installed, connected? Tube from the evap valve connected?

If you do not find anything obvious the best thing you can do at this point is to take it off and look closely at all the seals -- make sure they are not torn, incorrectly installed, or missing -- as in fell off when you were positioning the manifold.

I know this is trivial...but it's difficult to help fix a car problem through a computer screen...

I know when I installed mine their was a LOT of dirt around the ports. Some could have fallen in, however I doubt it could jack up your engine like that. But just a thought.

Yeah, this is something new since you installed the manifold...so double check EVERYTHING YOU DID from START TO FINISH. And check everything you touched while doing it. It isnt a conicidence....look over your work and im sure you will find the issue.

i have heard that sometimes when people install these some dirt from the original gets on the valves or something like that and if u fixed it just run 94 octane from sunoco and put some octane booster in it so whatever may be in there wont be anymore!!!

same when i did mine. there was a TON of **** sitting on the block. we put rags inside the openings then cleaned around them. we also put some oil on the block side gaskets to make sure they seal perfectly

check to make sure your brake booster hose is on tight...this happened to me during tuning yest and it caused no manifold pressure to build and id didnt run right
also, did you replace this hose with a longer one? make sure it is plugged all the way on the other side too and that it didnt come loose
