the oil pan is set this is the timing cover thats ******* with me....and ive been using the orange high temp rtv....isnt that better than the grey ****

well the completion of my car has been delayed until i can get my tools back.

I was taking some parts off an abandoned vehicle on base and i was detained by military police. They took my tools...about $400 worth in tools or so including my brand new floor jack that i just bought last week. well they said that they are getting me for theft of parts....even though its an abandoned vehicle...well ill have to deal with my command tomorrow....o and when i say abandoned vehicle....they have a big as "T" on the windshield for tow....which is scheduled to be towed and put up for sale or crushed....so i was just helping my self before they did that....well i was getting a front cover along with a front gasket...and all i needed to take off was the dam crank pulley bolt...and then they showed up....right when i grabbed my breaker bar....Well now i need to get my tools back but i cant get them back until my command goes and picks them up......******* ****...oh and some *** ratted me out that i was working on that car.....i dont even know the foo or why he did it....but i remember the ******. it wasnt even his car or knew who the car belonged too...but watevers...ill get my tools back eventually

not every time, lol. just once. the tuner has a data loger on it. you use an SD card that the data logger saves the file to. then you email the data log to vince at trifecta, he takes a look at it.... makes adjustments as needed and sends you an update via the internet.

works great, my turbo 2.2 runs just fine... from a roll i stay side by side w/ a stage 2 ss/sc and from a dig thanks to the ss/sc traction problems from a dig, i pull 2 cars and stay 2 cars ahead.

how do you know it was abandoned. maybe the person it belonged to was on a deployment

 

well cuz its been there for well over a year...the tags are from 05 and we are creeping on 09....so it looks and sounds to me like its abandoned...not only that who ever hit it up first took the head and intake valve cover and buch of other goodies...the only thing that was left in it was some rusted pistons, a block, a chain, and a a/c pump and the crank pulley...so not really much...but it had what i needed...but now i cant get nothing cuz they are doing an investigation and they took all my tools

oh and the tranny is still in...along with all the exhaust piping and header

o i guess i didnt mention this before but it had a humongous red "T" spray painted on the windshield which means its scheduled to get TOWED....so i did what i thought was right and help myself before they would tow it and crush it or watever they were goin to do with it

yea so im pissed...i tried to go pick my tools up today from military police along with my staff nco...and they were like, oh we cant give you the tools back until we complete our investigation....and im like what investigation? somehow i got mixed up in some case where some guys exhaust was taken from his chevy c10 and someone tried to drop his engine or something...i dont know...but yea...its some B.S....so i have to make a few phone calls tomorrow and tell them that their paper work is fucked up and i need my tools back

 

well my boy has an extra l61....ill be able to get the stuff i need from his spare....looks like ill be borrowing his tools since i still dont have mine back yet

should be sometime this week or next week

and it turns out that my boy did not have an ecotec it was an older cavi engine

 

what year cavi is it? the j body cavi's has the same 2.2 in them as our cars do and i think the cavi's before that had a 2.0 in them.

 

it was probably the 2200 engine. pretty much a 2.2 but just not an ecotec
