dang why dont they just offer some tuning software for us. HOW HARD IS IT JEAZE. like why is it so hard? what are they getting trouble with?

it annoys me, since there are people who can hack all kinds of programs with ease...

Do it, but its not as easy as you think. The ECU is different than a regular laptop or desktop.

well id need an extra ecu...i only have one car...so..yeah. and what would i tell him....crack this encryption? is it just encrypted or what?
i really am concidering it tho....he really is a hacker
he built me a program to get some CD keys to any software i have and its a really short bit of script too

with a computer you can find back doors and use little tricks, but with an ecu it is a matter of actually tricking it into doing what you want. Flash tuners and stuff basically tell the computer something false thru the sensors and alters what it reads so it will control the fuel delivery and timing in the way you want. figuring out how to trick the ecu and what kinda coding it uses is alot more complicated on some than others. Since i beleive your obd II sensor has some kind of protection (heard that on another forum, i think the ecotec forums) it will have to be done differently. I do not know exactly how it works, but i know it is a complicated process of guessing and checking to get the ecu to be able to be tuned.
