So my pop just got a 2.2 malibu, my question is would a lsj manifold and or cat pipe fit? I haven't been able to get it on a lift yet and look it over.

As long as it's an ecotec it will.

The downpipe will bolt onto the lsj header obviously, but the catback probably won't bolt up to the downpipe.

I have an 2.2L ecotec manifold that didnt come off a cobalt. Its about 1.5" shorter than my cobalt manifold. It should fit but you would probably have to do a custom downpipe.

it will bolt to the engine, but will it fit in the engine bay? Clearances might be different

I think he's talking about exhaust manifold, in which case I don't see why it wouldn't.

Intake manifold is a different story completely.

They're making all these cars fast nowadays. In a few years though we will be back to the one liter era going for fuel efficiency. Tired of all these new stock cars beating up on older 14-15 sec cars that 'used' to be considered "fast".

^^ society wont sacrifice performance to that level. we'll move to small displacement engines, yea, but we'll see a lot of turbo 1.4l or 1.6l engines.
