Air Intake. Should I get it?
How did you clean your engine up so nice? Is it ok to just take a water hose to it?

The crankcase breather filter is so all that gunk that gets kicked back up from the crank doesnt get recirculated back through your air intake via the hose that originally connected the two only downside is eventually it will start dripping **** from the filter and youll have to clean it all up thats why a lot of people go with a catch can so it gets contained without any mess hope that answers your question
when I had the spectre kit going into the stock box, it sounded a little better, then I did the "airbox mod" and it sounded a little better then I got the cone filter and MAF Sensor adaptor and it sounds like PURE SEXXXXXX!!!
if not have it special ordered it'll only be a couple bucks more (maybe $3-$8 more)
I'm sure you could even order it from advanced or something like that too... $50 for the kit, and probably $120 if you get the expensive ass K&N filter and the 90 degree elbow is alot better than $300 for something that does the same thing.
Someone on here (sentry) said they could make me a short ram for $180 and if I need an sai it could be put on too. Here's the problem: I have no idea how to tell wheather my car has an SAI or not. Help? Should I get a short ram instead of a cold air intake?
whether to get short ram or full intake is based entirely on preference since no one is really gonna be racing a 2.2 seriously. short ram has better throttle response and more mid range punch and growl. the full cold air has more high end power and less growl. both have downsides. downside to cold air is the threat of water getting into the filter, and as the short ram you can get heatsoak from the hot engine is warm weather as well as if you are sitting in traffic too long.
and if you want to check for SAI look at the top of your airbox if there's just the normal intake tube coming off going at an angle off the airbox lid and nothing else thats just a normal intake system, but if you have TWO hoses coming off then you are plauged by SAI just like me. but it is very simple to work with.

In a nutshell, dryer tubing wasn't designed to be the lungs of your precious motorvehicle. A car is so expensive, you should never cheap out on it.
But for real man, get K+N, haha...such a great intake

I think I'm gonna get a short ram come to think of it. Mainly because I live on a private gravel road, and pot holes/puddles are a common thing. I wanna be able to make it out of my driveway. lol
not to thread jack...but links on the spectre system + K&N model number you guys are using?
any good references for short ram kits? I'm considering buying one or the other but havent really made my mind up yet... haha
ps - hi everyone...been lurking forever but FINALLY had my account activated the other DAY

Yes, it says supercharged SS, I know I have an LS 2.2, I know. But I also know some things don't make a difference, and if I can get a better deal, then I want to.
Question: Should it fit my LS 2.2L?

There's a reason K&N will never throw a CEL. There's also a reason why the big companies design an intake around specific airflow needs for specific engines. What's the point of spending $99, to save another $99, when you take a chance of effing up your car that is worth thousands. And even if it doesn't cause problems, people will laugh, you will see no gains, and you'd really be better off getting a reputable brand. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything I just don't want you to deeply regret cheaping out on a mod that could mess up your car, or just simply do little or nothing.
You actually can put it to that side but you will throw a code...dont ask why i have no idea but when i first got my intake i thought it went that way haha it worked fine just threw a code put it the other way asd works great and no code

Another link for ya'll to chew on, what you think? It's a little cheaper than K&N and other brands, and it still looks like it is high quality...

O no problem, I get what you are saying. I just wish simple Mods didn't cost $34534536546. lol. Guess if I want to make my car what I really want it to be, I'll just have to spend a little more money.. Thanks man.
