depends on what you want to do, if you s/c u will need new clutch pretty soon after, and a new flywheel would be nice since the cluthc will be out anyway, along with cost of tuning parts etc, cams wil be eaiser, leaving just the cost of cams+tune, install can be done in 20 mins, if that, depnds on 3 things
1. size of ur wallet
2. how fast you wanna go
3. how much time can you afford to be w/out your car

is there a how to that has good pics on how to do this. also i dont now if this is true but do u leave the cam gears on the chain and just pull the cams out and put the new ones in? so the only thing u need to do is pull the cams out not cam gears?

if you have the tool, it take like 2 mins of starig at the engine to figure out...remove valve cover, ut in tool, loock tool, bolt tool down to head, than remove bolts, remove cams, put cams in, put bolts back in, remove tool, put valve cover back, and try and start ur car(for stg1), if you got a higher stage, upload tune(upload tuine if you got stg1 tune aswell)

The zip tie method is not that hard guys.
Simply remove the timing chain tensioner. That will allow you to remove the cam gears without any trouble with the chain zip tied to it.
And yes, the links you have above are a good tool for the job, but the expense is not worth it.

ok, i rely want to use the zip tie way. so let me get this straight. take the head off and bolts, zip tie the chain to the cam gears? or remove the chain then zip tie them so i can remove the full cam set?

Well, you don't take the head off. But I assume you meant to say the valve cover. There is a step by step guide in one of the build books, I just don't remember which one right now. Basically, you get the valve cover off, then the chain guide cover that's under there, zip tie the chain to the gear sprokets in a couple of places to keep them together, then you remove the chain tensioner. That will allow you to take the gears off the cams without any problems of tension on the chain. Removing the chain tensioner is the part that most people have problems with because they don't know where it is or how to remove it, or reinstall it. It is easy if you have done it once, but not so easy if you have no idea where it is how it works.
