cams for an 07

Does anyone know of any cams for an 07 lt. As far as I understand there are none because of the cam sensor. Will the ones from gm work pn 88958698. I just want a mild cam that does not require a retune.

So waht is the point of getting new cams if there is little defference. You have to beable to tune for it to make a significant difference. Do you really want to pay $800 for 2 horses?

I want one that does not REQUIRE a retune. that does not mean I cannot/wont do one when the softwear comes out. There are camsets out there in the 4-500 dollar range.

I saw those but was not sure if they would work because I thought the cam sensor changed for 07 and those are only listed to 06

Merged duplicate.

You are correct. The 2007 L61 has a completely different exhaust cam, and none of the previous L61 designs will work with it. To the best of my knowledge, nobody makes a set. And if I had to guess, nobody will now that the Ecotec line has expanded to higher performance models.

The reason that I said $800 was because if you take it to a good shop, it might take a couple of hours of labor. So three hours labor, at $60 an hour, thats around 680 total, plus tax, yada, yada. So $800 might be a little high, how bout $700

But you are still looking at $700 for 2 hp, does it sound worth it.

My opinion is hell no. You can get much better bang for the buck by just adding bolt ons.

couldnt you jsut get blank cams and have them custom ground? or order a custom ground cam? the cam sensor shouldnt be a problem as long as your new cams have a reluctor on them

Honestly, if you're going to go through the trouble of doing cam swap(s) you're gonna want it to make a big difference. I say this having done cam swap before (though it wa more difficult having been on a pushrod motor and half the motor is stuffed under the dash on the freakin thing). Before I got the camaro tuned it still ran fine, a little lean up top and stalled about once a week at a stoplight (which considering how many stoplights a day i sat at that's really good) but ran nicely and loped like a monster. My advice, if you're swapping cam(s), think big
