Haha... gee thanks guys. I figured he flushed it... I was just wondering why he switched to the green stuff. "Built motor" is not a reason. We have plenty of built motors in our crew, and every single one of them runs DexCool.

That sucks that the damage is that bad though. Trust me, I know the "I wanna quit" feeling all too well. Wasn't due to the motor, but it was due to two destroyed turbos totalling over $2000.

Hang in there. Maven's got a spare head for you for cheap. You'll get it back up soon enough. Just learn from it... next time don't drive it when you have a pretty good idea something isn't right.

sounds like my escapades of having a joke of a mechanic trying to install a water pump on a LD9. Bad timing = fucked valves/head.

there were no abnormal noises except the "misfire" noise and i was using a 80/20 mix of water/coolant just for the break-in but after that i was gonna use dexcool

Take some pictures of the piston, if you don't mind. You should be able to order just one piston from Wiseco, obviously at a discount. I would make that mechanic buy your new head, new piston, and cost of swapping over valvesprings (if those are still ok).

Keep me updated on what's going on, you know I would be more than glad to lend a hand. I'm sure Al would come back out as well.

Nice, props to Supertech. At least the mechanic is owing up to his actions. Not too many do.

Wow man, that sucks bad. You need to measure the #4 pistons protrusion/recess to the deck, as bad as that hit you may have tweaked a pin or rod. (it looks lower than #1 in the pic, a bad sign)

That looks nasty. That's good news though about the mechanic and supertech. Told you to hang in there and it'd work out. Good luck. Can't wait to see it get rebuilt.
