Cool CMD Intake

I said I would post pics so...here they are! Basicly if u don't know, the intake duct is off a 1989 Saab 900 Turbo. The filter is from the local crappy tire. I took the lower box out to draw some more air, and the maf is very poorly installed but no CEL!

unique yes, taking that to the dealership when you got a problem... that might be a different problem all together.

Well I'll give an A for effort. I've seen worse before. And that plastic duct should be less prevalent to heat soak.

There has to be a better way than tape for putting it all together. I think Turbo Tech Racing has T-bolt clamps for under $4 a peice. Hell go to a local hardware store and by some Stainless Steel hose clamps. They are only couple bucks a peice.

That is probably because the filter is sucking air out of the engine bay, not so much the plastic tubing getting hot.

i don't like the airbox mod. this is way louder and with the headlight out at the track, actualy gets some ram air action

The pepboys stuff is the one i used however i moved it around to the other side next to the dampner where you have it now. because with the 2 weeks of running a temp gauge in there it runs about 4 degrees higher than outside temp when driving and 20 degrees cooler at a light then where i had it before.

you shaved a sec nto because of the intake but better driving no intake esp one made of rideged plastic, not the best flowing, is gonna shave a sec i give you credit for being creative but i do hope that is only temporary

u guys don't beleive that this thing shaved a second? ive been drag racing for 2 years and the reaction times on the slips are almost identical. Im serious. the stock intake was crap. i noticed a huge diffrence when i did it. and at around 4 grand the car sounds like it's got a turbo because of the ribbed tube which is an added bonus! you guys are just jealous because i paid 2 dollars and got the same results as ur 400 doller intake.

****Edit: and wyoming i didn't mean to steal your thunder. i thought CMD was short for custom made lol

wow, that is ghetto, nice effort, but i think you need to refine your work and take some more pride in it
your car is an 06, not a 1990
