Awesome!!! Congrats I love seeing homemade stuff. A pipe is a pipe, no matter what teh b/s the companys tell you. It frees up some restricted air..there is one bend in the pipe, whats not to like about it Grats, althought the maf looks kind funny but oh well Two thumbs up

****Edit: and wyoming i didn't mean to steal your thunder. i thought CMD was short for custom made lol

Bro its totally cool i got a kick out of it! I was just stating what it meant... I actually was gonna get a set of CMD engineering stickers done up as a gag gift!

Nice effort finding cheap speed ! You could clean that up a little bit by a quick trip to "Canadian Tire" (atleast coloured electrical tape ). I hate to put a fellow Canuck on the spot, but, shaving a full second with any kind of intake seems............well NO !
Unless your factory intake had some serious issues (plugged filter, birds nest in tube ect...)

There is nothing wrong with a cheap mod but it does not have to look cheap. A few hose clamps and some smoother piping and a little more time and you will have and intake for under $ 30. Find a way to pick up your air from outside of the bay and it will be better.

Keep up the effort in finding speed and good luck

at the track I take the passenger side headlight out to get a ram air effect. The path is badly blocked by the rad support but it does help.

That first run was horrible. I was getting 16.6 easily on a warm afternoon. I wouldnt use the higher octane. It actually makes the car run worst. The best gas you can put in is the gas that burns the easiest in the car. Which in our case is 89. Your engine has to work harder to burn the higher octane fuel therefore a loss in power. As far as that intake goes I love the mass amounts of tape

lol the duct tape is necessary to keep the MAF stright. if it starts to wander towards the sides of the tube, a CEL comes on. You guys also have to remeber that im not Jack be Nimble im pussing 250 in weight. and the car only has 7000km on it

i think the reason you improved a second off your time is because you ran a very slow time your first time and you ran alot better the second time. why does it say JDM on your sig?

Wait, I just read this. You have to keep things cheap because you are on a budget, your you own a reader? How's that possible?

yeah dude you first time was cause you couldnt drine it yet once you learn your times drop quick a full second from an itake is not possible think about it an ss\sc cobalt has stock 210 whp a 2.2 has im guessing 125ish thats an 85 hp diff and well they less than 2sec faster than us .fastest ive seen stock to stock is 14.1 in an ss and 15.9 in MY LS so to shave a second you would need to produce agoos chunk of the hp diff no way is your custom intake making 40 hp lol

first of all, i have JDM on my sig because it's a car club here in town. second of all the intake DID and for the last time DID shave a second off my time. i even have it on video. it's not becuase of improved driving or what ever else u guys are throwing at me. Ive been drag racing for 3years. and ive done it all. FWD, RWD and AWD. Ur cars could have been doing faster times stock because of various reasons. maybe ur motors were worked in a lil more. mine was at 5500 when i raced it.

Not to say u havent gained anything or shaved time off your quarter mile times....but I've never seen a car shave a second off their times by just adding an intake....just my .02
