E-brake wont stay up

I have a 2008 Cobalt ls and this morning when i try to put the e-brake up it just fell right back down. Is this something that can be cover under warranty? I took it to firestone and they told me i need a e-brake ratchet which is only a dealer part. Please help! and if it is cover under warranty and if they have to keep your car do they supply you with a rental car?

40000 miles had the car for 3 years.

I went to an auto salvage and got a e-brake lever for 15bucks. Any cobalt works.

Now you utilize this to go drifting.

See what you gotta do is.. take it to the dealership, tell em your car runs fine and then weep uncontrollably as they give you 4Grand on your trade in and at that point you get a Cruze and jus start over...

Problem solved
