Engine Swap

I feel kind of dumb for asking this but is there more powerful engines you can put in a cobalt? Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a new more powerful engine rather than buying all these mods for it?

agreed. if you're looking for a more "powerful" engine, why not just get the lnf?

depending on what version cobalt you have, the only swap would be an LSJ or LNF in place of the 2.4, 2.2. Other than that, just trade it in and buy the new SS/TC. We don't drive honda's, there aren't 20 years worth of engines behind our cars that we can just toss in.

i'd stay away from an engine swap if you can't even spell engine.

you know we have the 4t45e trans which bolts right up to a 3100 or a 3400 v6. I helped a member of j-body.org swap a 3400series v6 in his auto cavi. he ran 14.3s all day long on a stock 3.4 with exhaust and intake

you can get all the motor mounts from a parts store wireing and computer and engine from a junk yard pretty straight forward swap no fire wall mods or fitment issues

just my .02
