Why not just do a built and turbo'd 2.2l?

How did you blow the engine? You could potentially just rebuild it stronger and replace what broke cheaper in the long run by a little I'm sure

rod failed. it costs more for a set of rods and a rebuilt kit than for an entire used engine afaik. also seems quicker to take this one out and throw a new one in than to take this out and take it apart then fix it and put it back in. did find a few of these engines at the pick n pull for 150ish.

Cause for rod failure? are you boosted or still running stock? That damage would be more costly to repair than buy a new short block to rebuild, but in rebuilding if your boosted get upgraded internals not stock

207k miles is the only thing I can think of. had oil in it surprisingly and coolant is good. was just going down the road at 80 and pow. I just need a DD so a stock motor works. ive got my motorcycle to speed around on
