Help! 2008 L61 idle problem.

Ok I got a 08 LT with a cai, catback, megan racing springs, and B&M shiftplus kit. When I'm driving in stage 1 or 2 i get a idle while im driving after the tranny shifts to last gear or so. What could be the cause of this?

Any advice would be help.

1. Its probably your Shift kit. Take it out and see if its still occurring.
2. If it still occurs after you remove your shift kit, then check your Idle Air Controller (IAC)...it may be dirty. Clean it and clean your throttle body. Also you can clean your Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) as well. Both things are typical maintenance that people overlook that can easily affect your performance.

Ok i've cleaned the maf sensor, and tb but when i turned the car on its ilding at like 1250 and with i drive its at about 1150-1250 when im at a light its high idling. also when im shifting to neutral its revs up to about 2100 and when i shift back to gear its goes back to 1150. What could be the cause of this?

also i took my car to autozone to get the mil checked and its came up with maf= low input, and both o2 sensors are showing error codes and the gas cap is erroring as well.

Sounds like your maf is bad or bad wiring, and most likely smoked your O2 sensors, and the gas cap code can affect your idle. Are you on the stock downpipe? or a catless?

Well the car is boging, so the o2s might be messed up, but then again it happen at random. ever since i cleaned the maf and tb today the car is all idling very high. so really tomorrow im gonna jack the car up and take off the o2s and clean them then put them back on. and go from there. the gas cap error is a shot in the dark really i've never heard that the gas cap could mess up the idle on the car. i just wanna fix these problems.

the gas cap affects the pressure in the tank from the evap system. Its just letting you know there is a pressure leak somewhere, and most likely its your gas cap seal. but the O2 sensors have a larger affect on idle since they tell your computer how well combustion is occurring, and adjustments to the fuel/air ratio.

Where exactly is the fuse located? Its giving me 17 error codes and the dealer ship it was probly cause because the oil for the k&n filter damage the maf which I really dont think it did.

if all 17 codes were connected to the MAF i'd say maybe. but oil on a filter on the intake will not ruin your O2 sensors on your exhaust. Take the K&N out and go to a different dealer, and never go back to that dealer again.

Unhooking the computer will only clear the codes and not fix the problem. Either new/used throttle body or take to dealership and pay $75-100 for reflash.

ohhh yeah the oil from the filter. Its possible alot of SS/SC guys had issues with the K&N filters because the oil screwed the maf up. Switch to a Dry filter Like AEM and get a new maf.
