i was driving home yesterday and i noticed my exhaust was sounding weird.ive already replaced the pistons and its on the factory tune. so it shouldnt of popped another piston. compression is fine. im running out of things to check

i have the ss/sc dp and pacesetter exhaust. i thought it may have been my exhaust leak but i fixed that and the sound is louder

Many of the LSJ guys speak of WRX sound and it's usually a massive engine problem.

Did you ever find out the cause of your problem. I started a thread about this on my car. The first time I had a bad coil pack and it sounded just like a WRX while it was on 2 cylinders. Now, it has this less noticeable WRX sound and nobody can tell me what's the cause of it. It's not the cat or resonator. I was wondering if it could be the gasket b/n the head and exhaust manifold.

well i decided against cutting out the cat.... i have a feeling my car needs to be tuned, i am smelling fuel from the exhaust. there is no missfires so my coils are fine
