hp gains?

okay quick ? here. if i were to buy the full engine rebuild for 2.2's(crank, rods, head studs, n fuel management, with low compression pistons), complete exhaust, cams, and full turbo setup, and had everything tuned, what can i expect towards hp n tq gains? idk if anyone has done it yet. bc i can kinda guestemate, but i just wanna be sure i'm in the right ball park, and if i even think its worth it. thank you.

P.S. Please no "Return the 2.2 n buy an ss/sc" i dont like that.

It depends on what all parts you buy casue different parts have differnt hp gains so it actually goes by what parts you buy

yeah cause you can buy parts and build a 1600 hp engine or a 200 hp it all depends on what parts and size of turbos like hick said

with fuel AND ignition tuning you can get a good bit of hp. Depending on the turbo you go with you can get 200whp or you can go for 400whp. I'm sure at some point you'll be looking at working the head as well though if you want to go further.

ya well, i'm pumped to figure out that i could have a potential 400 hp cobalt for less money than an ss. i wanna make a sleeper 4 dr cobalt. i think it would be the coolest thing ever. nobody would expect it. its gonna be hard though, bc of the turbo, bov, and exhaust. i have a 5sp sooo, hopefully i could get the rpm's down so i don't make too much boost when i'm just cruising around, and then open her to WOT when racing. I'd turn a couple Sti n Evo heads though . hehehe.

Your only problem is going to be tuning the 2.2 ecu... getting a stand alone is going to be the only way for you to control the car, just an FYI!

You are getting good estimates here with that 400 HP number. Tuning is the key. It is the only reason I have not already written the check. I have done all the engine and trans modifications that you are thinking about in preparation for this kind of modification, so it has been very frustrating for me to wait.

yea what they said. it will all depend on just what you want out of your car. 1600 hp is about half way to what you can get out of the 2.2... i have seen a 2.2 not in person have 4113hp. it ran in the test vehicle 6 sec in the 1/4, ande spun nearly all the way down. front wheel drive to..... so like they said it all depends on how much money you want to spend and what hp range, as to what kind or how big a turbo, injector's,fuel pump and so on. i will tell you that my old 04 2.2 sunfire would smoke a 04 intrepid with a 75 shot of nos from a roll and from a dig. and it was a stock 140hp, so just think about around 300 and you will have alot of wheel spin and maybe some hop. and the more you put in the engine you will have to put more into the car to handle it... have fun and go kick some ford assh!!!!! kerry, ardmore ok...
