I have the full cai, I've had it on for a couple weeks and no complaints, I just had to adjust mine because it just started vibrating against the inlet that leads to the filter, no ones fault but my own, 30 sec fix. Just make sure you do the job right the first time and you wont have to go back and waste your 30 seconds.

wow. can u say rip off. id never ever in my life spend 220 on an intake. i customly made mine for 50bucks. take a 95 civic intake from a junkyard. add a 90ş bend and an $30 air filter and Bam u got a intake. which does the exact same thing as your $200 one.

is it gonna get better flow down there?
it should since the air filter is outside of the engine bay so instead of sucking in air that might be 150degrees (inside the engine bay) it will be sucking in cooler air from the outside of the engine bay and underneath the car where it is much cooler since heat rises. There will prolly also be a constant rush of moving air thourgh the new spot too so aslong as he is driving it will always be cooler air

I would highly not recommend doing that. But that is your decision. If you put your intake and the Injen one on Wikkys car on the dyno, I would bet that Wikkys will produce more power and LBS then your junkyard intake. Also you must be throwing all kinds of codes unline the Injen intake.

Post some pictures also!

What type of air filter does it ship with (and if it's not K & N can a K & N be added)? I'm curious to see how it looks and where it comes down to, because I'd assume in the winter I would convert back to the short ram to protect my filter. As well, did you have a chance to dyno your car before and after the CAI was installed to verify that the numbers posted are close to those that you gained after the installation?

I still want to talk to my dealer to verify that this will in no way affect my warranty, particularly if they install it (at least if the labour costs won't kill me ) because living in an apartment I don't really have anywhere to work on it, not gonna leave my bumper laying in the middle of the parking lot while I install it. As well, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem but if I were to purchase the bolt-on S/C in the future I'm assuming this wouldn't get in the way?

Thanks,

Permafried-

Thanks Wikky, I figured as much with the S/C...but I think I'm beginning to talk myself out of forced induction not only because I really don't need it, but my insurance will hurt as well. If all else fails I can rip the CAI off down the road if I do go with forced induction.

I'm going to take a look at K & N filters and see if their racing filter would fit this intake just because I prefer K & N filters over other brands (maybe I'm just fussy ). I would assume it would since the intake looks like 3" pipe and any cone should fit on the end of it but better safe than sorry.

Just a couple more questions for NGA. Was just wondering if this "Price 219.00 Free Shipping to Lower 48. 10.00 Extra to Canada!" means $229.00 in Canadian funds, or if it's $229.00 in American funds which means I have to take the exchange rate into consideration before making the payment if I were to act on the deal? As well, do you still have any chrome left or are they all black? What type of warranty is included with the CAI and finally, if I WERE to have an issue with the CAI, do I ship it back to Injen or would I be sending it back to you (I'm assuming the first option)?

Thanks,

Permafried-

My goodness THAT CAI has many bends.

Also, they reccomend you unhook your battery so when you are finished installing the intake, your ECU will adapt to the increased airflow.

watever why would it throw different codes out? its the same thing as your injen short intake. except i made mine myself instead of forking over $220 and it does the same thing and makes my car faster as well.
is my pic of my intake!

Completed view..

Step 1

step 2

step 3

step 4

Hey guys, I just wanted to post some pics with the intake...It took me and my dad a little over an hour. Everything fit perfect, we took the front wheel and fender well off to get to the bottom of the intake..this was very easy..just a little time consuming. Gains are noticable and it definitely sounds awsome..

I want to thank NGASales for a great price, as well as fast and good service.....

On to the exhaust and headers....

Fyi, Injen took a little longer than expected to get the intakes to us, however we have them IN stock at MP, $229 with free shipping all day long. We have toll free ordering, and because we have been in business since 1997, we have a great phone staff that will readily answer your call , and get the part shipped off the same day !

Pics will be up on our website within a day or two at most.

Hey I don't know how to post pics but I have a black powder coated injen intake, the total came to 230. If you want to look at it go to:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2063211
I think the black looks pretty sweet, also I have not seen another one on a cobalt yet.
Peace
Ronnie

has anyone been having problems with CEL lights at all with these injen intakes? also if i get a intake is it recommended to get a new manifold and exhaust? also what are factory air intakes considered, shortram or cold air?

had it installed for about 5 days, no CEL.

Are you serious? NO! Just install intake call it a day.

Its considered a factory intake...

Short rams and CAI bypass the AIRBOX that all stock intakes have. The only diff about short ram and CAI is that the Short ram still sucks hot air out of hte engine bay, where a CAI sucks it from outside of the engine bay.

EDIT: I have an SS/SC so # one may not be pertinate to you question.
