IonNinja Build

So out of boredom I decided to post my build here...I just have random photos from over the years but hope to update it when I get new parts

Current Mods:
M62 supercharger w/ 3" pulley
60# EV6 injectors
Trifecta tuned
3" intake
Cobra Heat Exchanger
ZZP Dual Pass Endplate
LSJ OEM exhaust manifold (Removed)
Badmab Shorty Header (added 04/06/12)
LSJ OEM downpipe (Removed)
ZZP 2.5" catless downpipe
2.25" exhaust
Patriot Performance Stage 2 cylinder head
TWM short shifter
Raptor shift light
AEM UEGO wideband gauge
Autometer Vac/Boost gauge
KW Variant 2 coilovers
Progress rear sway bar
BWoody front swaybar endlinks
JS strut tower bar
17x7 5Zigen FN01R-C wheels
225/45/17 street tires

Car has ran a best of 14.83 @ 97mph 2.37 60' w/ current mods (98mph best trap) - as of 02/10/12

A trip down memory lane...

Starting with my setup...the original teardown for my m62 swap

Cobra HE (came with brackets already attached and I was too lazy to mess with them )

My original finished setup

Gauges and Dashhawk (AEM Wideband and Autometer Vac/Boost)

then I built my own intake from top quality Spectre parts

next I converted to a flow-through setup since I have no fitting on my Cobra for Option B

I was having a hell of a time getting my 42# injectors to seal in my Patriot head due to their length and larger injector ports on the head so I got rid of them and swapped to EV6 60# injectors + a brand new OEM injector harness for a plug and play upgrade

After that, I picked up a Badmab header. I waited a month to get it only to find out it hit the thermostat housing Had to leave the OEM manifold on until a new header was made.

Decided to paint my valve cover and supercharger Metallic Graphite

Next I switched to a new-style motor mount to finally replace the hacked up old style one I had been running for a couple of years

Video of the exhaust setup on the car at the time (LSJ manifold, LSJ downpipe, 2.25" exhaust w/ 22" glasspack and 14"(?) magnaflow resonator) as well as a vid of some pulls

Saturn Ion 2.2L Supercharged Exhaust Clip - YouTube

Saturn Ion 2.2L Supercharged Pulls - YouTube

Next installed mod was a ZZP 2.5" catless downpipe (had to have an o2 bung welded in for my wideband)

I then plasti dipped my wheels since the bronze finish was coming off my wheels (thank you "detailer" at the local car wash)

New resonator to replace my current, rattling one...22" Magnaflow glasspack

And ZZP dual pass endplate

installed the endplate

and re-routed my hoses (pain in the ass), I took the Option A route

All back together, I need a cleaner looking flow through tank I think

Endplate installed on car

Pulled the plasti-dip from my wheels. They look so much better bronze I don't know what I was thinking.

Gonna roll with them like this for a little bit until I re-paint them bronze (I wanted copper but couldn't find any copper wheel paint).

Also did a quick touch-up of my calipers with a low gloss black. No prep, just sprayed over the areas that had chipped from the original paint job.

Some more pics of the car with the plastidip gone...got some new Muteki lug nuts also

FINALLY got my revised header from BadMab

i also found out why i've got smoke coming out of my exhaust, check out all that oil

So new chambered muffler is on the car to quiet it down. It quieted my car down alot but it sounds like **** It sounds like I strapped a tin can to the back of my car...so disappointed

pulled the blower and mani off

installed the endplate

and re-routed my hoses (pain in the ass), I took the Option A route

All back together, I need a cleaner looking flow through tank I think

Endplate installed on car

You will be happy with that setup. Go for high compression, E85, cams and a helluva tune, and you'll love your car all over again.

My standards are pretty low so I'm sure it'll be plenty lol. I just want to trap 100+ and run consistent 13s on street tires

Finally got my new resonator installed...last one had a huge chunk of the packing lodged into the resonator inlet. Car is back to loud again so will probably end up with an LSJ rear muffler at some point.

Also since my last track outing it seems like I'm getting, blow-by I guess...lots of smoking coming out of my exhaust at idle. Still trying to track down the source of that as the car seems to run fine otherwise.

And today, started pulling off the plasti-dip from my wheels.

I'd probably be down with that, although my rear "muffler" is just a magnaflow resonator. Its gonna make you just as loud as you were before the LSJ muffler
