Lets talk 2.2 sonoma performance.
ya 2.2's in s-10/sonoma are a pushrod motor.same motor they put in the cavi b4 the ecotec.they are under powered for sure.i had full bolt ons and electric fans in mine with a 5 speed and it still was a 18 second truck
I did a head gasket on one of those motors in a cavi. Not a bad motor to work on, but i'd expect it just to be a low speed chugger, not a high rpm or high power motor.
I have a pacesetter from a 2.2 OHV cavi I pulled from the junkyard one day though

the ln2 is very weak.....stock that is, these motors have proven themselves to alot of cavy guys. I've seen ls6 valve spring swap, or was it lifters....i forget, but still with money can be nasty, but why lol
i think just to be different.everyone does v8 swaps,LS swaps, ive even seen a 2jz swap.i did mine up cause i was too poor to do a swap so i made best with what i had.
ebay has a turbo kit for 2.2 s10 sonomas for a grand shipped and i saw dynos of turbo 2.2 at 220 225 im doin it to my chevy luv as soon as work picks up engine swap is too much work in modifying especially when the swap is twice the size
