oh **** well the whole system can't weigh anymore than like 5 pounds hoses and all. maybe 10. but the point is that it's just weight, it'll have no use.

hunter can you honestly tell me you felt a diffrence removing the SAI completley to where a you left it hanging as I plan to? Evil why not order a tune from trifecta this way once you remove the SAI instal the header you can plug in the tune and take care of any mishappenings that might occur

well, first, i didnt remove mine until i put the supercharger on, since its mounted right where the HE pump brackets mount. But no, you probably wont notice 10lbs gone....i can actually almost guarantee it. I was just pointing out that its very easy to remove. Plus, if you go to the track or anything, every pound counts

Isn't the GMPP header compatable with SAI?

i'm not going to guarantee anything but i do not think that the gmpp will work with SAI either. the reason these cars have sai is because they were to cut back on emissions. they don't WANT us to be screwing around with the sai. if you've read up on SAI most dealers won't do a reflash for that reason. it's like they purposely want to screw us. but whatever. i found someone who has a tech2 and is willing to do the flash for me. now just need headers so i have a reason to flash.

they wont do it because its illegal.... your vin # thats flashed on to your PCM will not match the vin # of the actual car...that is illegal to do. Its also illegal to remove/modify emissions control devices in many states

removing sai is against the law in some states! Removing anything from your car that is emission related is against the law as of 1990. I know in pa it is a 10,000 dollar fine the first time. Now would some EVER check...heck no! But a dealership doesn't want to get into emission related items. Doing so could get them seriously fine or worse. I had vince remove the light from my 08 ls but have not had the money to buy a headed yet. I do so however have a ss/sc manifold I was thinking of installing tomorrow or this weekend! I'll let you know what's up.

your best bet it to have a shop you trust do the inspections! For emissions a they do in obd2 cars(96+) is check for lights. State inspections must check for emission parts if so equiped and your sticker under the hood should say about sai. I haven't checked but I think it's there. I just passed my inspection test last week so this is fresh in my mind. Some shops however since not all years of the 2.2 had sai, might not check. Just make sure the header you install is sema rated 1 for Cali or states with cali standards. If not get a sema rated 2. Legal everywhere else. I would think most headers(big name brands) are rated 1.

just check engline light..

i have talked to 3 shops that ive gone for maintenance about this and all have said just delete the CEL before you come and youll pass. i have the ZZP combo since July (no sai flash or tune), and have had no problems with the car at all other then the CEL.

it'll come on eventually. your sai runs a pressure check from time to time and eventually it will catch it...
