Sure you can put in a LSD.

But a good LSD would be upwards of $1000. Then you would have to pay someone to install it, another $1000, or do it yourself, try to find the tools and not screw up your transmission. I know that you have to disassemble the transmission to install the LSD, but you may also have to pull the motor to get the transmission out.

Long story short, yes you can, but, its gona cost A LOT!!!

Pretty sure the motor comes out too. I know you have to take apart roughly 90% of the front end to change the clutch, so putting an LSD on an auto (heh...heheheh...) would almost definitely require that.

My $.02: Don't.

You do not need to remove the entire motor to change the clutch or remove the transmission. All you do is put a jack under the motor to hold it up, then remove the 3 tranny mounts and pull the 6 or so bolts that attach the tranny to the block, then you slide it sideways then lower it down. Its not very hard, just takes a little time. I have repaired transmissions for honda's but not ours yet. I do plan on digging into ours here soon though.

what the **** is up with this laughing at an auto with an LSD?
a VERY LARGE number of automatic cars have a LSD from the factory, and there are companies that sell after market LSD's for the 4t40 and 4t45 trannys in cavaliers/cobalts/G5s/HHRs

an LSD in an auto has the same benefits as it would in a manual...i really dont understand you people sometimes..

Go see a doctor -- or maybe a vet -- you seem to have a problem
