Just changed out my tranny fluid with some mobil1 synthetic atf. Noticed a few different things such as the shifting is a tad bit smoother when shifting, but the biggest thing that it seemed to do which is weird at the same time is how it doesnt hold onto the rpm's when you rev it up now. Other than that, i noticed that i took my fluid check plug out first to get a idea where the level should be, but it was over filled kinda of a lot. So im not sure whats up with that or if mine was the only that was filled that way. It's also a little easier to go through the gears when the trans. is cold now. First and Reverse are easier to get into when its cold as well.

 

Same basic gains in trans feel when I switched to Royal Purple ATF. Since I've racked up about 4000 miles more since the switch things are even better when they started.

 

Any pics of the trans check plug?? i've looked for mine on my 2.2 but could never find it...

 

Does replacing the fluid in the tranny really do anything special? I mean I don't wanna waste my money but if it adds a little performance I'm all for it!

Just a bit of preventitive maintainence. I use synthetic oils/lubes whenever possible.
