Just curious, and in no way is this a way of starting a "my mod is better than yours rant". What are you guys' opinions of the stock air box modding. Have seen two different waysof doing it. #1 Remove "snorkel" completely. and #2 Remove "raincap" and "diaper" and replace the snorkel. Please let me know which option you used, or if you have tried both ways, which worked better. Also, if you changed out to another air filter, did this help. Going to turbo this baby before to long, so avoid the "go with a sri or cai" rant please. Thanks, btw, new to the forums but have been reading ALOT on here and I have to give alot of respect to most of the posters and all of the Admins. (not kissing ass, complete honesty).

 

i believe that they are removing the entire snorkel, through a k&n filter in there, and you should be set. Welcome to the Forums

 

i removed my snorkel completely and it feels diff a lil, i'm not sure how it would be taking off the big tubs on the snorkel

 

I did the same, it makes the car a lot louder under heavy accel.

 

i did this on an ls cobalt and the car came to life by completely removing the whole snorkel, i plan on doing this mod tonight on my newly aquired ss
