Nitrous on leased cobalt...

Come summer I want to set up the nitrous express stage 1 kit ( http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...ProductID=1801 ) on my LS coupe. The thing is the car is leased, but I am planning on buying out. Can the dealer stop me from doing this or incure any reprecussions for doing it?

Not if you buy it from them they cant do a thing. but you would have to start the paperwork to buy it. There is so many things you CANT do to a LEASE. My father wanted me to upgrade his audio in his leased impala and the dealership had a coronary when he asked. I did it but kept all the stock parts so when the lease was up we just switched it back. The best part was he payed me to install the new audio and reinstall the stock when he turned it in. Just call and ask them!

I dont know where people find the money to mod thier cars when on a lease. Im trying so hard to not go out and buy a intake and stuff. But i cant help but tell myself that that 300+ dollars could be a monthly payment for me.

But I can't see it making a difference if I am planning on buying out anyway? It's gonna be mine eventually. Well I guess the dealer has no guarantee that I will buy out, so thats the big issue.

I was thinking something like that but you have to bring the car in for inspections at the dealership, allthough I am not sure if they are manditory. If the're not I think I could get away with it. I am not planning on "spraying the **** out of it", just for use on the track every now and then. GM supercharger doesn't seem like it is worth the money, and the turbo isn't out yet and this is only a daily driven car so turbo seems to be more than I need.

then dont take it to the dealer for ANY work
if **** blows up, take the kit out, disconnect the batteries, press the brake to drain all the power out of the electrical system and clear the ECU

my advice is call gm, not a dealership, to see about modding it.

the dealer is telling you what would be best for the dealer/dealership. i honestly dont think you would be able to do something like that but im still in a '**** gm dealerships' mood as of late.

i like the idea of taking it off everytime gm eyes has to see it, or only having it on for some track fun.

Just a note: If you're going to call GM and ask them something about modifying, don't mention that you're using nitrous LOL

That won't take that kindly...

Wow, I really don't get the point of leasing cars. Cause for just like $50 more you could be making payments on a BRAND NEW car that will be yours to keep after your done making the payments and you don't have to give it back to them. If your able to pay $350 a month, your DEF. able to make the payments on a brand new car just buying it and it would probably be cheaper for monthly payments.

I don't know, just my opinion. Does anyone else feel this way about leasing?

Just wait till the lease is up, it's not worth the hassle if something goes wrong.

I feel the opposite. My payments would be double if I bought it from the get go. I am in college paying my own way so a lease is the way to go.

I say spray and spray often. Just make sure you do it right and you will be A-ok.
