**** i floord it in 1st and i think i felt it sliping. like it felt no where near as fast as it was, even in the higher rpms.

worst case scenario what parts will i have to buy? just a friction plate? if so **** it ill just buy like a stage 1 or 2 clutch

If your just rolling along real slow in 1st gear and you floor it, does it accelerate slower than the engine sounds like it should be(engine sounds fast compared to car speed)or does it spin the tires?

If it doesnt spin the tires, or the revs kinda flair up a little bit(or a lot) before the car really accelerates then youve got a clutch slipping.... Youll need a new one. Not a simple or quick repair

You MAY be able to get it warrantied because its so low mileage, but I would take off the header before you went in.....(maybe even youre upper mount, and wing, and have mom bring it in....)

Getting a "stage" clutch is fine, just know that that pedal will likely get harder to push.

The clutch itself is the cheap part. You need to get it installed 8 hours shop tome, minimum.(8hrs x $xxx = )

Installing a clutch is easy. If you've done it before.

Are you mechanically inclined? If not then don't try it. And I'm talking about doing actual work not installed springs, cai, etc.

It's really not that hard...just use common sense and follow the manual. And EIGHT hours.... Damn. A Dodge Ram cummins transmission only took me 6 hours by myself.

Is that ALL you've done since you've been around cars I meant. I've done everything except rebuild a motor(rebuilt a transmission though) and I still do not like replacing clutches as its a delicate operation. All you need is a good set of jacks and jack the sucker up...cramped, but doable.

done physically yes, but i feel i have a pretty good grasp on things but i know i cant learn everything from a txt book, hands on is definitely needed. i mean ive changed oil, balanced tires, chaged a starter, other tedious things like that. nothing big like replacing a head or breaks, or anything like that

im sorry but that is the most retarded thing i've seen today on this site..

less tread on street tires does not equal better traction

the reason slicks have great traction is because of the rubber compound they use. since its unlikely to be drag racing in the rain, tread is not needed. this increases surface area + super sticky rubber compound = awesome grip.

street tires with less tread = less traction.

Hate to break it to you. But the way you said it chirped when you slammed it. Matter of time.

Best bet is put it to stock best you can(even meaning taking off those mounts) and have your parents take it in. Lesson learned...slamming gears is harsh on the clutch this isn't a NSF car or a heavily built transmission. And from the sounds of it no offense you still may not have enough wrench time to attempt a clutch install.

I don't even like doing it for customers. Which is why I got out of that field and only work on my own.

I thought the same thing...working on your car and customers all day is two different things. Your car is most of the time fun. Yeah customers cars you get paid...but just wait until you get some of the work. Then you'll find out what they mean by yo-yos. I've had two yo-yos out of my whole career. Camshaft seals leaked(got twisted) on a head job I did(2 hour unpaid fix) and a CEL came on for a pinched wire on a passenger side airbag recall on the Dodge vans. Even though I pointed out the giant FOOTPRINT on the dash(which caused it) I still had to take everything off. That's a 6 hour task for first timers, and still got me 4 1/2 hours unpaid work.
