Oil Pump question?
^ i have rod knock and my oil as low but i wanna make sure it not the oil pump cuz i'm replacing the crank and bearings and i dont wanna replace everything to rind out its the pump and it hapen again...

If your oil pump failed, the engine would be overheating and will seize after a few hours of running, probably less. No oil to the engine means death.
It would run, just not for very long. When they destroyed the cars for clunkers, they removed the oil and replaced it with silicate, then ran the engine. Typically after 15-20 minutes, the engine seizes. I have no doubt that it would run without oil, atleast for a little while.

we work with a heat treating company that hardens our cavities for our injection molds. I had one of my tool and die buddies slip my oil pump gears into one of the boxes, three weeks later they came back. treated and hardend.
hard gears won't help him now... sounds like you need new rod bearings first, and when I needed those my timing slipped just a hair and struck my intake valves... Even though they weren't bent I replaced them, my pistons, rods as well as bearings and crank. If you have to go through all that trouble might as well get it all done right the first time.
