Question about Koni Rear Adjustable Shocks?

Does anyone know if koni shocks would work with stance coilover rear springs setup?

the coil overs available provide capability to lower the car a lot. The shock then becomes the limit of travel. The stock length shock would bottom out and the car would then ride on the shock not the spring and bad things would happen. Stance and similar coil overs the shocks are very short and very small in capacity. They enable the extreme low trim heights, but have very poor spring damping capacity.

YYZ isn't extreme low, when constantly bottoming out even Koni's will fail and I've seen a set fail thanks to Pedders bottoming out.

My stance coils in the rear have actually been great 2 clicks from full soft. Not to stiff or bouncy. Never bottomed out yet. 3 years. I just read so many good thing about koni and im sure theres better springs.

It's not a spring you want if you are trying to lower. It's more of a performance handling spring. Maybe an inch drop if lucky.

The drop and the pictures of cars with these springs is well illustrated on more than one YYZ thread on here. YYZ v.2 et seq., are at least one inch lower compared to stock TC which is the lowest OEM Cobalt .

The issue with trying to lower the car too much with springs and shocks is well detailed on here.

Drop spindles can make it easy but its expensive to do that.

LSJ1Fbody ran a dropped spindle rear time attack twisting beam we made for him. It enabled him to be lower in the back than the front.

Cast drop spindles for the front of a Cobalt would run about 2500 .00 and require special mac struts to clear the cv joint.

I just want a good setup. I do want performance more then I want to be low. I also was thinking about installing rear axle bushings also. next on the list, springs possibly yyz, koni shocks, powell rear sway bar

You know i always hear about these awsome powell parts. That only thing i have from powell is my sparco seat brackets. I would have more from powell but i cant ever seem to get any replys. I got prices for powell steering wheel hub. Asked for 2 different picture of the versions they told me about and never got a replay back?

I'm sure he might have misplaced the email, I've always gotten a response from John nice and quick. Maybe you have the wrong email address?
