Get the hydroshield. Period. Hell, I have one on my SS/SC, and I still have this happen if its raining hard enough and I go into boost. But without the hydroshield, I know it would have been worse. And yes, i have an oiled filter.

Go drive over to Tune Time Performance in Toms River. Ask Matt Hauffe, the owner, and he'll show you the dyno graphs when he dyno'd a dryflow vs an oiled filter back to back. I don't give a **** if you want to run your dry-flow or not. Oil repels water, this guy is worried about water, /thread...

Well I have mine as an SRI, so water isn't an issue. If I ever have the time, I'll swing by there.

i drive in the rain fine, im not scared, and i have a blower, mine sucks in water more than yours does, my filter is located on the driver side under the headlight, i have open slits were air/water can fly thru, no worries...
