Sucks that your build went downhill, but glad to see that it's at least up and running again.

Rod bearings, huh?

brass plates that go between the rod/rod end caps and the crankshaft. The maker of my patricular rod bearings was ACL

I wanna see how your powerband is on those cams cuz I plan on getting some new ones before I go with a larger turbo.

the new motor is a stock motor. its going to be a while before i build up the motor again. i did notice that the stage 1 cams were too aggresive for the turbo. Vince explained it to me and he said the stock cams or turbo grind cams would be better. So, i'll just be upgrading the srpings and valves and stuff like that next fall when i return from deployment. I'll have a second vehical to use at that point so i wont care how long the car will be layed up, as a mater of fact i'll probably buy a 2.2 wild motor from jbp

the plan is as soon as i touch down friday night im going to take the car out and rack up, or as close as i can, 100 miles and then change the oil saturday morning. Then put another 100 miles on it coming down to great lakes crossing mall near you and change the oil again while im down there. Then she will be good for some WOT data logging for Vince and send the resaults to him so he can adjust accordingly and then do that process repeated until he has it right. He already had a good starting point with me and now an updated starting point w/ an HHR sts that he tuned. So i would say that it shouldnt take too much tweak and peak of the tune after the first WOT data log. I would say probably about 3 to 4 hours of work.

Std "high po" ecotec brake in goes as fallowing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Start car on NON-SYNTHETIC oil...let idle and reach full operating temp. idle for ~20min.

shut off and drain oil.

2) REFILL with NON-SYNTHETIC AND NEW FILTER for the next 100mi

Drain oil.

3) REFILL again with NON-SYNTHETIC AND NEW FILTER for ~500mi.

drain oil.

4)REFILL with SYNTHETIC AND NEW FILTER drive for 2000mi.

drain oil and refill, use new filter.

5) Resume normal oil changes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the non-syn oil is thicker and will capture metal shavings better, it will also allow more friction between the new rings and the block so they bite in quicker.

well its a good thing its not a "high po". its complete stock, i didnt break in the motor that way when i first bought the car, ill break it in the same way i did when i first bought the car.

now the motor that i blew up, yeah, i should have broke the engine in that way since it was all "high po" parts in it
