Tinny sound when cold.

Hey guys ive only recently started modding my cobalt, before it was my girls car and im pretty sure she didnt change the oil for maybe 10-15k miles. I added to it twice and told her to get it done but i eventually had to do it back in september i think and it was black as hell.

Once it got cold out the car sounds really tinny until warmed up, almost like a rod knock but it isnt, its been happening since October and still is the same, all is fine once warm.

What could be going inside my engine? Seafoam or anything help? What should i try? it runs perfect when warm by the way.

when i first heard it it sounded like a rod knock, but then i recognized it as basically and old shitty 4cyl sound, i had a plymouth laser a **** ton of miles that i bought off a girl for $200 that probably hadnt had the oil changed in years and it sounded the same. not really sure how else to describe it.

and what would i do with an oil supplement just add it to the oil? and would i have to drain a qt? also would seafoam help?

Your hearing some noise because its a cold start. Your going to hear some noise on any engine thats been sitting over night in the freezing weather. Its nothing to be concerned about.

If I was worried about an engine that didn't have oil changed for that long I would drop the oil pan and investigate. But some noise is to be expected on cold starts. Mods done?

just an intake, and is just a cold start noise, i know theres no danger, but im just wondering if theres a way to stop it, it sounds like the oil hasnt been changed in a while plain and simple. Could seafoam help?

I was wondering about mods because it sounds exhaust related to me too. But if its stock I would look into the timing chain tensioner. Especially if its fairly high milage. It can sound like san exhaust leak until oil pressure builds up. Sea foam could help if your pickup tube is sludged and starving the engine for oil like suggested above. But there again personally I would drop the pan and have a look. Post a video if you can.

I've seen you say this Multiple times. I've never heard this before. Never heard of anyone experiencing this. Just curious if you are actually serious or if you are just pulling people's chain.

warm weather now, problem is still going on, its definitiely a valve train issue, sounds like a blender until warm. And its just when cold like maybe the oil tube is clogged or something like a guy above said and its not making it up there when cold, ive started warming my car up before leaving for work commute even though its 50 degrees out.

at the mod meet this weekend im going to get some in person help, seafoam and a few other things to see if i can fix it.
