Trifecta Tune?

Can I use my desktop in the garage? Or do I have to have laptop in my car? Do I have to do any driving with laptop hooked up in car?

In for answers. Might be getting the tune + cable deal from BNR when that kicks off.

If you can pull your desktop up to the car, you can upload the tune with it. However to datalog, you're going to need a laptop. And you NEED to datalog

You can get a USB extension cord and flash from your desktop in the upstairs bedroom if you can get the wire long enough lol... For datalogging, you don't HAVE TO, you SHOULD. I'm sure you can borrow someone's laptop for an hour to flash and datalog though.

I'll give you good deals if you want, PM me with specs.

Iit all comes in the mail. Yes you need a laptop to flash and log though. Just my 2 cents I WILL never use nor recommend trifecta. I'm still on my base tune 2 weeks later. Sent data log and 4 emails. No answer. I went through wot tuning. They have until end of this week then I'm cancelling card payment. My car is running stupid rich fouling out plugs and idling crazy. I understand people are busy but they don't even email you back. Be warned...

Thats who i go through and they do a very good job. I had an issue when i first got my trifecta tune, was getting crazy flutter and surging, reverted back to stock tune, told them that my tune was causing my car to go crazy, next day i had the updated working tune., sent 2 datalogs, 1 a week and got the update within the week.

I want to go hpt route but i can't find anybody that knows how to do it. Is HPT able to tune out secondary air injection (SAI)? And does HPT tune the transmission?

I think HPT is 2007 and above.

When I go SC next year I'll need to go Trifecta as the nearest, good, HPT tuner is in Toronto (3.5-4 hours away). Hopefully Trifecta works well.

Yes hpt can tune tranny. Yes its 07+. Contact James rakes. He's better at remote unes than Vince is imo. And he does hpt. I think he's ccss3 on here

If you were talking to me, I know someone here in Ottawa who is a Trifecta dealer so I'm covered there. Quoted me a good price and said we'd remote tune once I'm all finished with the install and its buttoned up.

give the guy a break, just had a kid. He is a very good tuner, I have worked with him personally many times, and have from the start (was the first cobalt he ever tuned). He can be hard to get ahold of at times, but you cant beat the end results. And honestly...he is the ONLY person on the planet that has taken the time to support tuning for this platform...so cut him some slack

vince is probably great when he's got a car in front of him to tune. but when he's tuning a car that's on the other side of the country, it's skeptical because since he's not there monitoring and a sensor goes out of whack and you don't know it, could screw your engine

You're always taking a risk. But, I bet there are people that wouldn't know that a sensor took a crap even with the car in front of them.

Vince, on the other hand, made himself well known in GM community by doing just that, remote tuning. And he does it quite well.

Shouldnt of went with WOT tuning theirs so many threads on this site with bad reviews on them, dont diss vince when its not his site. Shoulda went with BNR or Vince directly, after sending my data logs it took a day or two to get a new tune. And whats the difference if a HPT tuner that sends a tune from across the country? Problem with most people on this site is there still on there original tune then they bitch and say the tune is "off". Its not gonna be perfect on the first tune. My buddy is HPtuned by a very popular person on here, guess what hes been through 8 tunes getting his car dialed in. Im on number 4 with vince and the car is running good but not dialed in yet. Hptuners is awesome if you know what your doing but im not spending $500 then paying another $200 to get a tune from a dealer.
