Weird Noise Help

Ok when I accelerate I hear this whisping noise. I think it may be an exhaust leak or possibly a leak in the intake. It only happens while in gear and moving. I cannot hear it while the car is idle in park and reving the engine. Its any ideas????? Its pretty cold here oddly enough and I still have the intake mod on as well.

THinking about putting the stock intake back on

The colder the air, the better the car performs. I ran my AEM Cold Air Intake in -22 Degrees Celcius last year and the only side effect was my car had massive amounts of power with that kinda cold air.

It might be your farad capacitor. You should think about upgrading to this years Flux model!

does it sound almost like if you had a leaf stuck in your air vent kinda sound, like a soft, strange crackly kind sound? but coming from the engine area?

if so, mine used to make that when it was getting knock/spark blowout.

What octane do you use? are you fully stock?

His isn't supercharged so I highly doubt that he would get knock.

When did you first notice the noise? Does it seem like it is affecting the car in anyway? Check engine light? Engines make a lot of different noises. That is why the stock intake has mufflers and baffles. It keeps it quiet so you don't hear the whistling or hissing of air being sucked into your engine.

Its the intake. Actually, its the air rushing over the partially open throttle body when you step down. You can hear it because the aftermarket intake does not have the sound dampening properties of the factory system. Normal, if thats what it is anyway. Sounds like that from your description.

started doing it like 2 weeks ago. I put the stock intake on and it still does it. It is not effecting the performance just bugs me. It does sound like a cracking noise off a leaf kinda.
