Question What is the difference between the 2.2s?

I've got an 08 2.2 LT, and I would like someone to set the record straight for me. I've been trying hard to make sense of all the interchangeable parts with the 2.0s. The stickies say all parts for the 2.0 can be swapped. But I'm assuming the 08 2.2 is different than the earlier ones, as someone mentioned that the 2.0 header will not fit the 08. I've also read that there are only 1 or 2 people who have done the 2.4 manifold swap on the 08 because there may be some issues.

To my knowledge I don't have the SAI (or whatever the acronym is supposed to be as the proper name was argued at one point, hehe). I compared the SAI pics with mine, and unless the location is different, then I don't have it. Then I heard about people having 2 cats! That's when I drew the line!

So please help, what is the difference between my 08 2.2 and earlier 2.2s?

What parts from the 2.0 will fit the 08?

Can I still use the header/downpipe/exhaust?

Can a separate sticky be made for the 08 if there are major differences?

Thanks.

I'm posting to help clear the air, as I'm sure there are some 08 2.2s who want to know.

yea we have 2 cats... but one is past the o2 sensor so if u take it out it really wont matter

there is also some difference in the o2 sensors on the 08s, but this is an easy fix, just make sure u plug them all in, in the right order

Main differences between years are computer, cam sensor, SAI, and a few other minor things.

08 is the same as 07 as far as the L61 engine. 09 models get the new LAP engine.
