if your getting a tune you wont need the shift plus....and you need a full exhaust not just a muffler

Don't even waste money on a tune if your getting a muffler and a intake. Get a full header back exhaust, intake, 2.4 manifold. Basically full bolt-on before you waste money on a tune

if you are done modding the car otherwise and just want the most out of it...then yes i think it is, if you at all think you will be doing more to the car, then no

Well thats what i mean if he plans on doing more then don't waste the money, but still an intake gives you what 6-8whp is it worth getting a tune for that performance part?

you get so much more though, he can tune the tranny so he doesnt need the shift plus, he can remove pe delay so he gets the power all the time and right away unlike now, he can add or remove timing to make it run smoother, he can change rev limiters and remove governers...all in all, if you want your car to have just that little edge and not seem like the base balt it is...this is what you need, seriosly, i have two balts. Mine has full bolt ons, suspension work, a tune...all of it and is pretty darn quick (for an ls), the gfs has a tune and it moves pretty good on its own, way better then before we did the tune. If someone is done modding their car...even with only cai...a tune is worth it.

Yeah that's what i was trying to say, Most people don't stop on the intake It's usually turns into a exhaust and then headers.

I wanna see what our cars would do with an 8000rpm redline and cams to give power all the way up there. The ECM already has a tune all the way up to 8100rpms, why not take advantage of it? Spend about $1000 on a valvetrain that can handle the rpms and a tune to match. That would be a pretty quick balt.

Yeah. I will need neutral balance shafts to rev up to 8000rpm. Our stock balance shafts i think can only handle up to 7500rpm

The 2.2L ecotecs injectors are almost maxed out stock, any mods more then an intake and exhaust and you need tuning..intake/exhaust/header, intake/exhaust/2.4L intake man (need tune for sure)....I'm awaiting install of intake/exhaust/header/2.4L intake man/68mm throttle body/Level Zero tri-flow camshafts.... not having a maf sensor like you guys, I definitly need the tuning for the intake man or risk leaning out and detonation at WOT.

just go buy hpt and start playing around. and then while youre doing that you can be saving up the money for the parts that require a tune. and then tune yourself
