ZZP Down pipe Defect?

I have the ZZP 3 inch catted down pipe that may or may not be defective. When I installed it a few months ago it didn't fit like the stock dp. The catalytic converter is being shoved against the body of the car and as a result it pushes the already heavy exhaust extremely close to the ground. It has been of little importance until I lowered my car. The exhaust system is becoming damaged by speed bumps (which I try to avoid) and even just driving on rough streets. Better exhaust hangers are of no benefit as even when I push up on the system it is at its highest because of the down pipe. Is this a manufacturing defect or is this a common problem?

There is a good 4 inches on for the system to move up
