2007 chevy cobalt with a 2.5 catback looking for a deeper sound wondering if going with zzp headers will give it a better sound

You want deeper sound? Try going with a V6 or better. On a serious note the more you open up your exhaust the more racecar it will sound. It won't get any deeper like a bass note.

Agreed.

To op, Idk what cat back you have but I have zzp mid length header/dp with gmpp 2.25 cat back(3rd setup I tried). Sounds deeper than any n/a 2.2 setup I have heard in person. Leave your cat, get which ever header/dp combo you can afford. If its not deep enough think about adding a resonator if your catback has a small one. My .02

I had the zzp dp until I broke a weld when my giant resonator hit an elevated gas station fill hole (lol) cover. Was very happy it, only reason I replaced it was because I was sick of loosing a 2 year battle with my leaking pos badmab header and wanted it gone! If I was to do it again I'd probably go with ss/sc or zzp header, zzp dp. You may just have to play with muffler, resonator combos till you get the sound you want.

If by deeper you mean raspy and honda-like, go ahead. I wouldn't put a header on a 2.2 BUT THATS JUST ME

I'm saying a header on a 2.2 will most likely make it raspy and annoying

Well, I jumped on a deal a guy had local. Had a 3" to 2.5" ZZP Highflow Catted 200 Cell Downpipe and a LSJ header. Now I'm 2.5" or more from the header all the way back. It definitely is louder, I say it feel Honda-ish but other people actually say it sounds a lot better then a Honda. Least it doesn't sound like I'm going 55 while only doing 5 mph.
