ZZP S/C Kit?

So has anyone gotten one of these installed on their 2.2 yet? I'm curious to see how well this bolts on and performs.

I'll have it on in a week or 2. Still trying to find a LSJ downpipe, and figure out how im going to wire the TB's together. Im confused as to the way ZZP wired the extenders and it looks nothing like LSJ-L61 TB diagrams I have seen.

So have you had to do anything extra or need any extra components? I'm not that advanced with modding cars and want to get this and make sure that I have everything when I get it and that is going to be "easy" enough for me to install. Will I have to move my windshield wiper reservoir?

Well I am buying an LSJ exhaust mani and dp and I see you already have aftermarket mani/dp so your good to go there. I know for automatic trannys, depending on the size pulley you are running, if you are using the 3.4 that zzp has installed already then you will need to grind/dremmel down the area where the pulley so it fits. Also depending on what octane you will be running (im assuming you are using 87/89 currently) and will be using 91 or 93 I suggest getting a new fuel filter and run a tank or two of 91 before the install. One last thing that would be a good investment is a tranny cooler. I was told that the auto tranny gets really hot, yet hunterkiller is auto an hasnt had an issue so im sure if you dont run your car hard it will be fine. Autozone has them though and they are like 50$, so its something to possibly consider. Other than that, the kit itself is well assembled and is very straight forward, but I'll let you know more when I actually install it.

Also, your windshield wiper reservoir will be fine, unless you decide to use an aftermarket intake then you will run into some issues.

If you want to see your IAT2s with the aid of something like an Aeroforce Interceptor gauge you need a 2.5 bar map sensor which this kit does not provide. If you don't care about seeing your IAT2 then dont worry about it.

What do I need to do in order to use these gauges:

http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=906&catid=169

Boost
Wideband A/F
Trans Temp

I plan to order those when I get the kit and add them in at that point. I was thinking it may be better to get the Wideband when I order the ZZP DP so that I can order the extra bung at that time.

You will need a gauge pod. Everything that is needed to install comes with the gauge. Since you are going the same route as me with the ZZP S/C, the boost gauge will be a piece of cake to install.

Same with the wideband. Thats even better if you get the downpipe shipped with the o2 bung already installed, that will save you some time. Also very simple to install. For both the boost and wideband, there will be a few individual wires hanging off the end of a plug in and one will need to be tapped into a power supply and another for a ground and then you can also choose to hook up the additional wires if you want to log your A/F R for tuning purposes.

I'm not familiar with the trans temp though.

I was looking through that page earlier. I was thinking to get the triple gauge pod from ZZP too.

Thats why he is asking questions about the kit and other things and learning how they work so he has some knowledge of what he is doing before he starts.

I don't advise buying a blower kit from a vendor, unless of course money ain't a thing. And even then it's dumb save a good amount of $$ 2.1k for new parts isn't bad and they make everything easy for you (TB adapter, MAF extender.. ect) you can pick up all of the used parts for around 1.2k if you're patient and end up with a CAI and a legit H/E. I paid like 1.5k for all my used parts and a few goodies like; a CX racing H/E (new), Wideband A/F gauge, autometer electric boost gauge, 2 pod a pillar, modular pulley system w/ 2.6, 2.8 and stg 2 pulleys, and an injen CAI. And I was one of the first few blown L61's back when people sold their setups for more.
The ZZP kit may be better for you if you are less experienced with the mechanical side of cars because it *looks* a bit more straight forward.
Regardless, glad to see more people really open up their L61's with an m62! Difference between N/A and blown on these cars is incredible when you do your **** right, especially w/ dyno tuning, none of that canned tune data-log crap.
Good luck with the build

There are pros and cons from buying from a vendor and piecing together your own. Buying from a vendor, you know you are getting everything you need and its made for the easier installation, higher priced but you dont have to pay 50 different individual shipping rates for piecing together your own kit. Also the kit has a 1 year warranty on their hardware so if something goes wrong on one of their parts they replace it, which I doubt will ever happen but its just something that is always possible. Piecing together your own kit takes time and a lot of effort. Either way, maybe its just me but i would rather pay a flat fee to get everything I need for the installation.

Couldn't of said it better. I'm down with saving money, I LOVE seeing people with low cost builds and used parts that are just as fast if not faster with expensive builds. I know a few people that spent little on their car that spank people with high cost parts and builds. Ahh the glory

I'm one of those people that would rather trust a solid kit than try and piece it together myself and then go to do it and realize I'm missing something and have a torn apart car in the driveway when I need it. I know it would be cheaper to do it myself but I'd rather do what Hyper said and not pay all these shipping fees and keep track of every single piece as I build it up over time. This place is an easy place to lose things over time. Haha.

It is. Just takes longer and is more of a hassle to get everything together and also can delay the installation if you dont have everything ready.

If I were to get a 2.4 IM would I then have an easier time putting the LSJ TB that comes in this kit on?

You wont be able to use a 2.4 intake manifold. I dont think the supercharger would bolt up and if it did you dont want your blower on a plastic intake mani. It wouldnt hold up very long.
